Premier League Discussion Thread 2013/14

Pete, Edd, need you to explain something for me. When your club has Lloris, one of the best keepers in the league, ehh why go and buy Vorm?

Surely he's not going to trade regular starts at one mid table PL side for the bench at a slightly bigger/ better club? But then, he's not as good as Lloris so he's not going to knock him out of the team.

Are there not more pressing needs for Spurs than creating a problem by having two first choice keepers?

Seems nonsensical to me.

No idea. We still haven't bought a striker and are in desperate need of one. More so than any other club in the Premier League. Getting really counted off with Spurs at the moment.
I will say one thing, Vorm was sub keeper at Swansea so he's actually swapped being sub in an average team for being sub at a half decent team. Still can't figure out why he'd do that. Very strange.

Was his bench warming not partly cos he was injured and Gary Monk/Laudrup wanted continuity so they stuck with whoever his replacement was?

Maybe, he certainly had more of a look in that one would imagine he'll get a Spurs. I'd be surprised and disappointed to see Lloris dropped for a Premier league game. He can have the pointless cup games which is to say; he can have all cup games.

He replacement at Swansea was Tremmel. Vorm IMO is a very, very good keeper who deserves a spot as a Number 1. For example he is better than Schezeny at Arsenal

Agreed, so WHY join Spuds where he will be no.2!? It doesn't make sense from his point of view or from Spurs'.
Between this and the Fabregas transfer I'm beginning to wonder has football finally lost its last vestiges of sense!?

Surely its so Levy has a back-up in place when he sells Lloris next summer...
Lets look at the form:
- Sign Modric on a long term deal/ext; sell 2 seasons later
- Sign Bale on a long term deal/ext; sell the next summer
- Sign Lloris on a long term deal/ext; watch this space next summer

Even if that is true, why sign him now. Why not wait and have him lined up for next year but spend the money on a position where you need a player ie up front.

Maybe Brad Friedel is retiring? Every club needs 2 goalkeepers even if one of them never plays, anything can happen in a game.
