Where to start?
Rooney should have gone. Straight red all day long. If that tackle had been the other way round the ref wouldn't have been able to get his card out quick enough. Yer boy from Cardiff who slapped/punched Fellaini should have gone as well. As for David Moyes defending Rooney, wise the **** up dick head! Have some decency and admit he's a violent little **** who got lucky! Why do media organisations even bother asking him? Ninety nine times out of a hundred when something like that happens the manager (Moyes or whoever else, they are all as bad) says he thinks it's fair enough. It's a non story. It's only worth reporting if the manager actually has a shred of decency and says "yeap, he should have gone for that." But how often does that happen?
As for Utd themselves, As I've said before they over-achieved massively last season. They won the league (comfortably) but were probably the worst champions I can remember. And that's not specifically a dig at Utd, if they were the worst WTF does that say about everyone else?
Under Moyes Utd have continued to look less than the sum of their parts. Whereas auld ball-bag made them more than the sum of their parts. Will Moyes be able to rediscover that aura? I'm sceptical, but he will need a bit more time. As well as someone to point out that 30 odd million on an attacking midfielder they don't really need given they have virtually nothing in CM is ****ing daft!
It may well be that whoever took over from Fergy was always doomed to failure. Much as I hate the guy, those are massive shoes to try and fill. I almost suspect the second manager after Fergy is the only one with a realistic chance.
As for the title this year, it really is wide open, anyone of about 6 sides could win it. I'll say this much though, whoever does win it will be right up/down there with last years Utd team as one of the worst sides to win it.
As for Spuds. jesus that was a cluster ****. I watched the game and in parts they actually played ok but had no idea how to turn possession in midfield into shots on goal, or they were so slow in going about it that a school boy team could have set up to stop them. AVB has bought some quality this summer, but it may be a case of buying too many players. He clearly has no idea of what his best formation is never mind his best 11. Ok most teams play a few formations at various stages but if pressed you know roughly what way they will line up, not so Spuds. I reckon when he gets it sorted they'll be real threat to any side in the league, but ATM they look like a bunch of guys who have never played together before. Ohh and they won't defend that badly again this season!
Ohh and how the **** that Everton player stayed on the pitch after attempting to surgically remove Suarez's leg using his studs is beyond me. Yes, Suarez is a despicable little runt, but that tackle was a red card and minimum 3 game ban.
