Premier League 22/23 Thread

And when I posted the Lurcio picture Mikes post read little more than let's have some decorum, which is the first half of a line from the Up Pompeii! film. That post was edited after I posted the picture

All good Weasel, sorry me being a plank!

I'm really black and white, and the death of our Queen for me and my family is a big thing, emotions sometimes get the better of us…I apologise for being reactionary, and I've e obviously been emotional, here

my values are very basic .. do the right thing even if that's a problem …. If you can lay your head on the pillow knowing you've done all you can during your day to be decent, honest and helpful then that's a good day.

sorry mate for being a Pratt and over emotional

we are all good mate

me being a primaDonna !!!

carl BTW I love Frankie H

No worries, as long as we're all all good.

Now back to us all agreeing Liverpool are the greatest club ever!

Ha ha

Liverpool the team as good as they may be
are not as good as Man Utd for me
when it comes to the passion, no doubt each set of fans are committed,
but come on Weasel it has to be admitted,
when it comes to scousers, " why is it's not fair"
I have to say I always despair,
if Utd lose or a result goes against us,
we complain just a bit no long lasting fuss,
but when it comes to the scousers, this is what I think,
unfairness, " why us" they throw the kitchen sink!
it's football we are all on the same level plain,
but For all to see it's blatantly plain
"it's not fair, we were robbed" scousers always cry,
always the downtrodden, the bleating persistent,
but football is all about being consistent,
ups an downs will always come into play,
but with hand on heart I have to say,
ask the question …" who's the best Man Utd or Liverpool"
to not know the answer you have to be a fool,
Utd of course are way the better team,
if you disagree..keep on with your dream,
but I'm afraid we are better, it's just a plain fact,
you will always be a supporting act

Brighton Palace postponed this weekend, cos of a rail strike……that has been cancelled after the Queen died. Now that is some proper special logic.

Almost as bad is Chelsea ARE allowed to play in london on Wednesday but Arsenal aren't on Thursday. Not to mention the whole of the weekend just gone going down the pan

Yep, and do you get three free transfers in Fantasy Football if a game is randomly postponed and you have players from those teams? Of course not! o_O

Man Utd v Leeds, whilst a long standing rivalry, is hundreds of miles away from the action. Makes perfect sense to sack it off.

This whole farce is precisely why the weekend just gone should've been played, there was little or no impact on plod and a minutes silence etc would be respectful.

Now we're staring a second round of postponements in the face and no clear space in the calendar to play them unless the league carries on into June or players already overloaded have to cram in more midweek games post World Cup.

At this rate I'm sticking a tenner on Acrinton for the FA cup as no one above them will want to field a decent team 🙄

I can kinda see the logic in postponing Chelsea Pool, given the funeral is in London the next day. But ehhh Utd Leeds? Manchester isn't even remotely close to London. How many people are they expecting for the funeral, 3 billion? Loved as the queen was, I very much doubt they will be lining the streets the whole way to Manchester.

Also, how come the Police can't cover Chelsea's game but they can cover Brentford's? Same police force……

Just the Premier League showing there incompetent's. They rushed to postpone last weekends fixtures knowing full well that some games this weekend would get postponed. The Utd Leeds game is off because it's a category A game so needs extra police that aren't available, like you say though @weasel how many police do they need. Why don't Man Utd play Palace at Old Trafford instead???? Palace Brighton is also off and we were playing Palace last weekend at Palace, just reverse the fixtures!! So now Man Utd aren't playing a PL game for a month and the next league game is City away, brilliant! Then a month after that the World Cup starts. Then from Boxing Day we're playing every 3 days until May by the looks of things. I loved the Queen as well thought she was amazing and didn't put a foot wrong for 70 years, not many people in a position like the Queens can say that throughout the entire history of humanity.

Another inspirational HT team talk from Brendan.
I know Kane & Son can be deadly but surely at 2-2 away from home you just shut up shop? (Not even seen the highlights by the way so no clue what happened apart from the score)

I saw chunks of the first half whilst cooking dinner, it looked fairly even. Spuds were probably just about the better side but Leicester were by no means hanging on. Some properly **** defending from Spurs to let Leicester in, and likewise by Leicester for the goal at the start of the second half. Weirdly, from what I saw, it wasn't a 6-2 game. But yer man in nets for Leicester is no way a PL keeper and that team just disintegrates when the **** hits the fan, or they go 2 goals down.

They will do well to stay up with yer man in nets and no change in management. Not that I blame Brendan for their lack of investment, but he doesn't seem able to galvanise the team to fight for survival, and boy are they in a relegation dog fight.

A lovely 2 week break for Liverpool now.

No games for two weeks and then NINE in October. Logic in there somewhere. A winter WC so let's put a stupid Int break in a few weeks before the WC and force leagues/UEFA to cram a stupid number of games into the month before so all the players are shattered or bucked. ****ing genius.
