I can see Man Utd being in the same position as Newcastle this time next year, the players can't cope with 2 games a week let alone 3!

**** that, I'm hoping they are in the same position as Wolves!

I have a feeling Villa may have a late up turn in form and can see Chelsea missing out on the 5th spot, Liverpool will get at least 5th, to much quality in that squad.

Chelsea's remaining games are pretty tough, so are Pool's. A lot of talk of Slot getting the boot and Alonso coming in. Not sure Slot could have any complaints. The football is dire and has been for a while, ditto results.

Arsenal better not bottle the league,

Good luck to Wales, R.Ireland and N.Ireland this week, would be amazing if any of them make it.

Just had a look at the groups. Dear god, jeopardy overload. Not one looks remotely interesting and with the top 3 from 8 of the 12 going through there seems little point in taking any interest until the knock out stages.

Had Norn Iron fluked it they would have had a group with Canada, Qatar and Switzerland. For context their WC qualifying group was Germany, Slovakia and Luxembourg.
The WC group is easier than the qualifying. Yet every WC the percentage of European sides drops. Yet we all know at least 10 of the last sixteen will be European, but let's allow Cape Verde and Qatar in instead of side who actually know how to play.

Football is a game of wafer-thin margins at the top of the table, this is the first time I've appreciated it's the same at the bottom of the table too. Today's performance was not bad - the disallowed penalty was probably the right call, but it would have stood in over 100 previous seasons before VAR. Spurs haven't been awarded a single penalty this season, only one other club is in the same boat. And Sunderland's winning goal was a complete fluke, no other word for it. As said the performance was fine but Spurs just need something to go their way.

I haven't been to a Spurs game in the new stadium yet, so I've booked a couple of tickets for the Brighton game next week (unsurprisingly they're not hard to get at the moment!) Could be the last chance me and my son get to go there in the Premier League

Yep, very fine margins indeed. Watched the last 30 mins and thought Spurs were very much second best. Sunderland were stronger, sharper and looked like they wanted it more. Spurs were a touch lucky that Sunderland's quality in the final third was severely lacking. They had several breaks that should've produced at least one more goal.

Great you're going to a game- nothing quite like it. I've managed to see WHU a few times this season with my youngest (17). Seen 2 wins, a draw and a loss, so not too bad. Our friend's son currently has a Uni placement with the WHU first team (strength and conditioning) and he can get us tickets. He's a huge Spurs fan, so has very mixed emotions at the mo! It's quite amusing seeing him in the background of the training vids on Youtube, wearing Hammers gear.

Leeds beating United too, the gods certainly aren't looking down on us at the moment! I'm kind of pleased Romero is out for the rest of the season, too much of a liability, especially in high stakes games.

As there's no World Cup thread yet I thought I'd post this here, I found it on the FIFA website. I had the VHS as a kid, my Polish godfather bought it for me because at the time it was their most successful tournament! Really interesting and nostalgic documentary, nice to see some "proper" football too.
