Premier League 25/26 Thread

I don't think I've ever seen so many draws before:

And @lejackal unless Arsenal get 11 broken legs and Arteta is hit by a bus on the way to training tomorrow, please don't ever claim Arsenal aren't lucky again 😂

Jesus @Cazza what the **** happened there? Three down at HT and apparently you didn't have a shot on target.
That’s either a massive kick uo the arse the team needs or you fold like a deck of cards now. Forest up next too. Great game to bounce back in, if you win. Or a nail in the coffin if you lose.

Ohh and I think Spurs missed their ‘sliding doors’ moment in and around the time they made the CL final, possibly the 6 months before. That was a properly good squad, it just needed a little refresh and a few well picked upgrades. Instead….

Yep, you're not wrong...

I really hate those games where you know exactly what is going to happen. Spurs squandered about 20 tap in chances through poor passing, Son and Kane would have scored 5 goals today easily. And then of course Sunderland equalise with their only shot on target. Absolute bollocks. On the very small bright side, Spurs were solid in the first half and drawing against this Sunderland side is not a terrible result, but jesus we need some midfielders who can cross, Kolo Muani especially looked like he had never kicked a football before, I could have done better.

Ehhhh……😬

Soucek reckons punching someone in the face, accidentally, isn’t a foul and a penalty shouldn't be given.
Rrrriiiiiiiitttttteeeeeeee!

That game just sums up Liverpool’s season. Score a last minute “winner” only to concede an equailser when some random LB who barely plays and hasnt scored in four years twats a worldie into the top corner. Two Alison’s wouldnt have saved it.

Not the first time that’s happened either, Tarkowski did it to Pool last year and some Spurs boy, Erik Edmund maybe?, did it years ago. Add in what all but proved to be a title winner from Vincent Kompany away at Leicester the year Pool and City got 97/98pts and you get a pissed off me.
I can understand a striker scoring a late winner, ditto a midfielder or someone scrambling one in from a corner. But defenders who score one every five years hitting a thunderbastard is ****ing annoying.

Football is a **** sport. Lol

The free kick it came from was a dive. There was a two-handed push on Mav before the ball came to Soucek. Then Soucek heads clear followed by Areola fouling Gibbs-White. Or does he? Goes for it with his hands and GW goes for it with his head at the same time. Maybe just a 'coming together'. Need to see it again. These things tend to go against you when you're on a downward spiral...

The ref gave them literally everything- minor little things that weren't even fouls, yet bigger, more obvious fouls for us ignored and play waved on. Again and again. The disallowed goal was an absolute shocker- it clearly came off their defender after he made a clear action to stop Summerville. There was absolutely no intention from Summerville to pass to Castejallos get a deflection etc. There was also a clear new phase of play after the offside, yet it's brought back and disallowed. Imagine if this happened to MC, Arsenal or Liverpool. That Liverpool offside the other day was also an absolute joke as well. Not a level playing field, it would seem. There were a couple of shocking pen decisions vs Wolves the other day, but we totally deserved that loss in the end. This was different and felt 'almost' manufactured. We played well and at 2-0, would've almost certainly gone on to win, maybe by even more. Very hard to take in such an important game.

All I have seen is the cross and the header/punch so I cant comment on the foul before it or the disallowed goal.
You're spot on that **** like that only happens when you're having a **** season though.

As for the Pool offside, it is bizarre. I didn’t know the details until I saw it on BBCSport page. Despite using the semi automated offside thingy the PL, still use a sort of margin for error. So when they draw the lines they make theirs is (say) 5mm thick whereas other major leagues make them 1mm (measurements here are guesses but the approx scale is right, I think). If there is ANY overlap, the attacker is given the benefit and the goal stands.
Now, it has been like that all season apparently. This is the first I have heard of it. By the reasoning above, the Pool goal is fair enough. We all want to see goals and giving a tiny bit off advantage to an attacker has been called for at various times.
But, quite why the PL uses such a big margin for error I do not know. It does seem daft and if I was Fulham I would properly ****ed off.
To me common sense says, it was offside so disallow it!

Fully expecting Arsenal to thump Pool tonight. I won’t be watching anyway. Continuing my strike and refusing to watch them
