As requested time for the annual, 'make yourself look like a dick come May' thread.

As always no prizes just bragging rights, and a chance to embarrass yourself.

Given what happened to Timber when I declared him signing of the season last year I'm reticent to put anything remotely positive about Arsenal

Timber will be a good signing long term I reckon. I'm leaving this until 2 weeks today, I need more time to come to terms with predicting that Man City will win everything again.

He has said he has been assured they are innocent if they are proven guilty he will quit.

In his defence I don't know how much a manager knows about what goes on behind the scenes, the ins and outs of sponsorship deals etc.

Yup. Though he was there 5yrs. I was amazed it was that long. Under those daft accountancy/FFP rules Utd may even have made a 'profit' on him.
But giving him a 5m pay off kinda sums up what a pish signing (for Utd) he was.

Great defender, although seems to have lost the ability to go forward at Man U. I'm sure I remember him being quite pacey and attacking for Palace. Should be a very good signing- I'm happy with him

Happy with Man Utd's transfer window, another centre back would be nice along with a full back for each side and a defensive midfielder. I'm hoping that having 3 or 4 centre backs that are comfortable playing out from the back will be transformative. As already said AWB was a good defensive right back but ETH wants full backs that overlap. Just need to get rid of the rest of the dead wood and we'll have a decent squad.

Interesting what this post will look like at the end of the season. 😂

17) The biggest waste of money of the summer Probably Solanke
18) Random predictions. Mid table seasons for Spurs and Man United, Liverpool on the brink of a sharp decline but will probably still scrape top four this season

@lejackal I suspect you're prediction on City is fairly accurate. Or ore likely, they get off scott free.

@edd_jedi you know Leicester are odds on for a points deduction asap?
They dodged it last year by telling the PL they couldn't punish them for over spending while they were in the PL cos they were in the Championship last year, and they then told the FA/Championship they couldn't fine them for over spending in the PL cos it was a different league. Probably technically a valid argument, but cheeky. And the PL will gladly, and rightly, shaft them now. It was almost as if they wanted to avoid a pts deduction just to get promoted and get the extra money that comes with being in the PL.

Whatever club could you have in mind as the Rottweiler? Do I get 115 guesses, or is it Chelsea? Or Utd who apparently got 2 special exemptions to allow them to pass FFP (only seen the allegation on twitter so may be BS)?

I've heard that as well. Think it was on Talk Sport the other day. Something to do with Covid. Ridiculous!

So, now three clubs are cheating!
The only fair soliton is to relegate them all to the regional leagues and probably send Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle and Villa down too. That should pretty much guarantee Pool finish third lol

It's the hope that kills you.

@theforceuk I see what you did there, predict Pool and Arsenal to do well in the hopes of jinxing them!
City to miss out on the top four and all trophies is a brave call, especially when you're predicting them to get off all 115 charges!
