Premier League Discussion Thread 2013/14

Thought Hull played their part in an enjoyable Cup Final yesterday. Extra Time was a bit dull but a decent game. I was pleasantly surprised as I expected Aresnal to win in easier fashion than what they did.

Also some other good news ITV and their wank coverage has lost the right to the FA Cup now! 8) They have transferred to BBC

I must say i was watching the La Liga decider between Barca and Athletico. Infinitely more exciting!
I did catch a little of the first half and the 2nd half of extra time tho.
Not that anyone really cares about the FA Cup anymore but it's still a good and much needed win for Arsenal so fair play (i guess). Was a little annoyed that i had £20 on Ramsey to score at any time and he scores the winner in extra time and thus i lose.   :x

Great news on ITV losing the rights. They really have no idea how to cover football.

Decent enough cup final, gutted for Hull, thought they played really well. Arsenal were pish but their class showed in the end.

Gotta fear the two Athletico boys are out of the CL final now and that really is a massive boost to Real.

So WH have decided to keep Fat Sam cos he has promised to play a more entertaining style of play?
What's that saying about a Leopard and its spots?

Do the ****ing sensible thing and sack the egotistical long ball merchant now so we don't have to put with his ugly mug and awful football next year!

We've got them coming over to New Zealand in July, along with Newcastle. I mean please.... what a **** advert for English football. I can't think of many Premiership teams I'd less like to watch, except perhaps for Palace. The ****ers are charging £75 a match to see them as well

You couldn't pay me enough to watch WH!

Palace are ok, not great but a damn sight better than WH. Chelsea would be another to miss. As were Utd under Moyes, unless like me you enjoyed laughing at them.

What do you guys think to this Yaya Toure birthday business? I mean seriously??

Also a honourable mention to Josh Law of Alfreton Town who has moved to Motherwell and we be playing European Football next season! 8) 8) Delighted for the lad. He deserves to be playing at a higher level. he has only stayed so he can work under his dad!

Toure's agent does start talking **** every summer. He did it last year and he did it at Barca. ****ing pathetic all the same

Too right!

Also weaz I remember you saying you had a soft spot for Cambridge United. They were promoted back to the Football League after 9 years at the weekend :)

Yeah, a mate of mine had a box at the game. Had I not had a family thing over here I would have gone. I saw the second half on BTSport. Bloody good game. Though I heard the first half was kack.

Yeah I watched the game and the First half was dire even by Conference standards. Great Freekick tho for the second!

Great second half full stop. It may not have the quality of the PL or the FAC, but it was still a quality game. Two teams who gave everything and the result in doubt right up to the end. I'd take that over the walk in the park that is the group stages of the CL any day.

Because heaven forbid you get a manager who would win you things and get you in the top four! Think you'll get Poccheto personally. Would piss myself if Spuds got Moyes!

Pocchetto it is then!

Big call for Saints replacing him. Feck this up and there could be trouble ahead.

Apparently Pochettino said "There is an abundance of top-class talent at the Club (Spurs)"
Has he been drinking? Boy is he gonna be disappointed.

Also looks like he wants to sign every single Saints player going, Lallana, Jay Rodriguez, as well as Dejan Lovren, Callum Chambers, Nathaniel Clyne, Morgan Schneiderlin and James Ward-Prowse. It's more than likely paper talk, but I always worry when a manager starts buying players he had at his previous club. Can they not work with new players?

Lallana and Rodriguez would be awesome. That's what i was hoping for. Not the rest, obviously. They wouldn't get in the squad.
Spurs defence is an embarrassment altho i really think it's a case of one world class CB coming in and possibly a more defensive LB than Danny Rose. We have nothing much up front (Adebayor on his day is decent. That's where it ends) but in midfield we do actually have a lot of talent. Erikson is a fantastic player. Paulinho is class too. Sandro has a lot of potential and on his day is unplayable. Add to that decent squad players like Lennon, Sigurdsen, Dembele and i think, despite his early issues, Townsend is a top player in the making. Might be next season, might be the one after but i see him coming good. He's very talented. Just needs to hone it.
Chadli and Capoue i'm not sure about and we hardly got to see Lemala play which is a shame. I think we need to get rid of at least 2 of them (and Soldado, obviously!) and bring in 1 midfielder (Lallana), one or 2 forwards (Rodriquez and Lukaku) and we need defenders. We need a left back and one top quality CB. And Vertongham to be fit again.

I was only teasing!

Spurs have a decent enough squad, i reckon you summed it up quite well. Though you forgot Lloris, who i think is a great keeper. Not sure i agree on Townsend, but then i don't get to see him very often.

I agree Lallana and Rodriguez would be great signings, but sadly they are both coming to Liverpool, along with Lionel Messi!
