Premier League Discussion Thread 2013/14

I think every non city fan will be cheering for sunderland. But after last years FA cup i cant see City dropping another bollock. Though i live in hope!

Depends what CL and PL games they have arrived the time to see if they do.

I think Mata is a bargain. Best player in the PL last season. However, I don't rate Rooney and I think RvP long standing injuries may have come again. Utd needed strengthening in at least 5 other places before Mata. Unless he's the catalyst to convince others to come.

Ive just thought. Perhaps we want City to win because as they will finish in the top 4 the European spot will move to who Finished 7th in the League? Am I right?

That's also based on the assumption that qualifying for the UEFA Cup/Europa league is a GOOD thing!

I'd argue quite the opposite. Given the pittance you get in prize money and travelling involved. Sadly UEFA have ****ed about with their second competition so much (WHY are teams that finish third in the CL groups para-shooted in?) that it is nothing more than a distraction to most decent European sides.
CL or bust.

Spurs have lost every Premier League game that has followed a Eufa cup game. It's a pain the arse. Complete waste of time, energy and resources.

As a Pool fan I'm not exactly chuffed about Arsenal away.

From the neutrals point of view it will be good to see the big teams play/knock each other out, but I want to see an FA Cup final that is competitive. The last five or six have been horribly dull. I don't care if it's two smaller sides as long as the game is worth watching, not another "just don't embarrass yourselves" defensive snoozefest

Chelsea are back to their boring best under Maureen, hope citeh smash them. Can see the reds falling away this year - not strengthening the squad is suicidal even if we didn't have the injuries we have! Fsf don't want to spend big since they had their fingers burnt with Carroll, downing etc. A draw is the best we can look forward too. Not looking forward to this evening :(

Great win for your boys tonight!

Just looking at upcoming fixtures. We play 4 times from now until the 15th Feb and you only twice. So we wold have played 34 while you only 28!

The advantages of not being in Europe and not having a worthless cup semi final etc.
It's a strange one in that I suspect the teams that miss out on CL football would rather finish sixth or seventh and avoid the Europa League, than finish fifth and end up in it.
There will be clubs/managers/chairmen hoping for fourth but should that not happen actually hoping to finish outside the European places.

Great result for Pool, not seen any of the game, but I have to be honest I was expecting defeat.

Goodness me City are getting the rub of the green with decisions at the moment!

Yeah, unreal. We were proper stitched up tonight. Our goal was good and their one wasn't. Nor was the red card obviously.

Haven't seen it, but heard the ref wasn't gonna give City's penalty until the lino flagged and (wrongly, apparently) over-ruled him.

Good to see Mourinho moaning about WH playing football from the 19th century. It's fat Sam WTF did he expect? Even if WH weren't in serious danger of going down, did he expect them to actually try and out football Chelsea? A club that spunks £12 million on a third choice winger, against a team with half a defence and no striker, worth his salt, apart from Andy Carroll......insert your own funny comment. Wise up Jose!

What a ridicolus comment from Jose! Your telling me when he visits the Eithad on Monday he will be wide open expansive football then? Just like he did at OT and the Emirates!

**** off Jose! :x

My thought exactly. This from a man who specialises in teams that are dull as to watch. Even Chelsea fans admit they are shite to watch. Also from a man who's quite happy to tell his players to roll about on the ground and waste as much time as possible when they are winning.

Outbursts like that, are why all non Chelsea fans (and even some of them) think you're a ballbag Jose!
