Premier League 22/23 Thread

From what I have heard he is one of those players who is supremely talented but who just CBA to train. Hence his injury problems, he is never fit enough and has to push himself in games and his body can't cope.

Given the fact he hasn't had a decent season since his Chelsea days, and his no doubt ridiculous wage demands (plus his age), I wouldn't go near him. Add in the issues of his attitude and the fact he'd hardly help squad togetherness and …….why would you!.?

He wasn't exactly famed for his work rate in his Chelsea days, add a few years onto his age, and a few million in his bank account and he's very similar to Ronaldo, albeit a few yrs younger, not as good at his peak, and a **** tonne cheaper.

Sounds like Man Utd will be signing him at 11pm on 31 January then.

How Rashford was deemed not to have interfered with play is a joke. I mean the result us a favour but the decision is one of the dumbest I've seen.

Yes offside for me, but Man Utd deserved the 3 points. Man City are in trouble if they think they lost only because of that.

Interesting stats for a game that every media outlet would have you believe was a bulldozing:

The reality is Lloris scored the first goal, the second was admittedly a brilliant yet ill-defended goal, and on another day Ramsdale wouldn't have saved all four of Harry Kane's on-target shots. Such is football. Credit to Arsenal, they were definitely much better in the first half, but Spurs were unlucky to get nothing from the second IMO. And speaking of luck, with City and Liverpool both losing, I hope every Arsenal fan is playing the lottery at the moment

Did Kane have 4 shots? There was the header at the end of the first and the one in the second with a diving save?

Arsenal are the team to finish above that's for sure, only lost one game in the league and they had bad luck for that 1 loss. Harry Kane is in decline, Spurs should get him on a new contract and sell him in the next 18 months. Arsenal are pumped.

On a slightly different note…….I've seen about 10 minutes of Fulham this week, maybe less, and in that time Willian has ran, passed, assisted(I think) and scored as many goals as he did in a whole season for arsenal

I don't know if I would call the league's second top scorer in decline, struggling for service sure, but that's not his fault. Time is ticking though, he's got 2-3 years left at his peak.

Yeah I'm not saying he's finished by any means, but I can't see Kane's best years still to come? I'm just worried Man Utd are gonna go for him this summer and spend £100 million on a 30 year old.

I'm more worried about Son, he's been invisible recently, for all Jose's faults he had Son and Kane playing as the deadliest duo.

Jesus, @edd_jedi Liverpool have eleven invisible players ATM.

They will do very well to make EL the way they have imploded. I even called the 3-0 pre game. Brighton are a very decent side, well organised and no real stars, just 11 guys who know their job. Liverpool are just eleven guys.

I actually thought the Utd goal was ok, Rashy doesn't touch it and I don't think the City boy would have got it had he not been there, but I can totally see why City were pissed. I would be if that was given against me. The whole offside thing is a joke ATM. Does interfering with play even come in to it any more? Common sense says it should be disallowed but the current offside law is such bollocks that common sense isn't allowed.

Arsenal's luck continues with Lloris shooting his team in the foot for them. I can see why Spuds are looking at new keepers. But **** me Pickford is not the answer there.

Apparently Chelsea have spent more money in the last six month's than Liverpool have spent in the last six years. That is a staggering stat.
Imagine the team Klopp could have built with that money

Yeah I saw Klopp say "do I have to raise the money thing again" it is baffling that the board isn't willing to back a team that won the league a couple of seasons ago, they're going to do a Leicester at this rate

FSG are very strict about how much Pool can spend. It has to be internally generated, mainly from player sales. Fair enough that has worked so far, but you kinda get the feeling Pool are at a crossroads now. They need investment NOW to have any chance of CL next yr. Missing that puts a huge dent in the finances and thus who they can sign in the summer as well as the price FSG can charge. It also gives a hand up to rivals like Newcastle or Arsenal (albeit they are all but guaranteed CL footy now) at the same time as shafting Pool. It's a double whammy.

One of the best free kicks you'll see this season imo.
