Bale is a great signing for Spurs, no question.

20 games or so las season for his club, he has definitely never been comfortable for the last 5 years, you've got to look at the Bale that turns up for Wales - drive, determination and his heart is in it, Spurs is the perfect signing for him as a player, what he brings to the team as a hero of Spurs, and a new motivation for him, I think he will do a fantastic job for Spurs and is a brilliant signing.

Only time will tell if Bale is a good signing, certainly a shift in Spurs strategy recently Jose and Bale are proven winners.........

How about today's result for a change of luck/form?

Well it nearly turned out a typical day in Spurs land, two goals disallowed in the first half (admittedly Saints had one chalked off too.) They started off poor, but in the second half Spurs figured out their weakness and exploited it in almost identical fashion multiple times. Great result, and I think Jose did the right thing dropping Alli, you can't give somebody such an important position on a plate just because they were good a few seasons ago, he needs to earn it back if he wants it. I think his ego will result in him going, if anyone is willing to pay up for him following over a season of average form.

Agreed on Ali. He has been poor, and getting worse, for 18 months/ 2 or 3 years ago he looked superb. Now he just looks like Lingard. Too much Instagram BS and not enough effort on the pitch/training ground.

I agree with the Ali comment's it's sad to say but it looks like his best years are behind him. Saying that a move may be what he needs. Surprised Man Utd haven't been in for a panic buy!

A bit gutted to read today that Bale probably won't be playing until late October, I didn't realise he was injured (no surprise there I guess  ) I was hoping to see a hat-trick against Leyton Orient tomorrow! Although looks like that match might be off as half their team have Coronovirus apparently...

Spurs were away, City player has it now as well, Gundogan has tested positive. Can see the season getting stopped at some point.

Everton fans have been calling for it to be abandoned, with the league table standing, since Saturday

I wouldn't be to bothered if this season was cancelled either, mind you I can't see anything changing for Man Utd while the Glaziers are the owners and that may never happen!

BBC Gossip page leads with a rumour from a certain rag that I refuse to name (as a Liverpool fan you can probably work out which paper it is) that Utd have enquired about Calvert-Lewin and been quoted 80m.
EIGHTY MILLION!!!!!
For ****ing Calvert-Lewin? The guy is a poor man's Duncan Ferguson FFS.

Scary thing is, given Utd are desperate, Ed Woodward is a moron, and up front is definitely NOT the weakest area of their team, I could see that deal happening. They have no forward planning in transfers and see to like panic buying at the last minute. If I was a Utd fan I would be very worried.

I'm not worried as I have zero expectations, the funny thing now is the Ole out bregade are starting to pipe up. This is playing right into the Glaziers hands as it takes the heat away from them and Woodward, they sack him get a new manager everyone is optamistic for 6 months and in 2 years time it all happens again. The club is a laughing stock within the football world.

And all the while the Glazier's leech another few tens of millions out of Utd.

Yep they have even used the Pandemic as an excuse for not spending this summer, absolutely disgusting.

Was it you, or someone else, who told me Utd had had to take out a loan to enable them to pay the Galzier's as the club's income had dropped due to Covid and well, the Glazier's didn't see that as any reason why they shouldn't be paid!?

Yeah was me £150 million, which is about the same as Utd take in gate receipts in a year. They really are bottom feeders.

Another story is that they used Man Utd money to buy a player for their NFL team! A good respectable source has said that Joel Glazier stepped in at the last minute and tried to reduce the Sancho fee which is why we haven't signed him.

Hhhmmm. Are they (legally) allowed to do that? I guess if both clubs/companies are held as part of the same 'group' or investment company then they are just transferring cash from one part of the greater company to another.

The whole Sancho thing is a joke. Utd leaked they were interested in him. Dortmund shrugged their shoulders and pointed to the 3 or 4 years left on his contract and said £108m and we'll sell but we want it done by the start of August. Utd were then surprised when Dortmund rejected their bid of 60 or 80m (depending on your source). Utd then leaked that they had agreed terms with the player, which ehh means FA if you haven't agreed a fee, and were then surprised again when Dortmund didn't **** their pants and drop their asking price. The start of August comes and goes, Dortmund say "he's not for sale now" effectively telling Utd they had their chance. Utd are again surprised that Dortmund don't drop their asking price. The season starts, Utd look shite, the transfer window is closing in a few weeks and Utd are still humming and haa-ing about paying the £108m Dortmund initially asked for. I'm not even sure they would take £108m now as it leaves them very little time to buy a replacement.
If there's one club who come out of that looking like utter morons, it's not Dortmund.

As for Utd, yes they need cover in midfield and a right sided attacker or RM, but is spunking £108m on Sancho the solution? Surely that money could be put towards 2 or 3 top class players in other areas? A LB, a CB, ehhh another CB, cover in Midfield, cover up front.
Also, as OGS has been there 18 months ish now it's fair to ask, who has he improved in his time at the club?!
Name me a player who is better now than when he took over. Brandon Williams and yer wee fella Greenwood are hard to judge as they have only emerged into the 1st team recently. The others.................
