I'm 99.9% sure you AREN'T getting Sancho. Literally no benefit to Dortmund for selling him now, unless they get a fair whack over the asking price of 108m

You may well be correct, but we will see, he's not gone to the Bayern Munich game, he's come down with a sickness bug, not Covid-19. Utd will pay the £108 million just at the very last second. He wants the move, Dortmund don't want a player that wants away.

League Cup Draw:

Stoke City v Tottenham
Brentford v Newcastle United
Arsenal v Manchester City
Everton v Manchester United

I can't remember the last time Spurs got the easist draw (if you exclude the recent Leyton Orient free pass  ) This is definitely now Jose's best chance of a trophy, I hope he puts everything into it

And City get a reasonably tricky draw. That really is a rarity.

I see the EL draw was made. To save anyone looking Arsenal, Spurs and Leicester all got three bunches of nobodies who they/their reserves will get past easily enough.

Lets not forget Spurs have only had to play one match to get to the quarter finals, no excuses now!

4 wins out of 4 for Everton, who saw that coming? Genuine contenders or will they fizzle out?

Top 6 contenders for sure, they will fizzle out IMO. That was Carlo's 100 PL game in charge and 60th win, not bad at all.

That may be the nicest thing you've ever said about Arsenal

Am I hard on Arsenal!? I quite like Arsenal, as a club, and I don't dislike any of their players or managers. I do think their owner is as bad as the Glazier's, Wenger stayed too long, and they have a lot of deadwood in the squad. But I don't think any if that is overly harsh.

Had a few drinks watching Everton with my dad yesterday and since we won we had a few more... Came home and was asleep by 8pm. :D My local has a nice set up outdoors with multiple tv's so a good safe place to watch the game. Next game is the derby which is a 12:30 kick off so it could get a bit messy if we were to win that one!

Yeah not just a great result, but a great performance. I was almost annoyed that United went down to 10 men as beside the comedy penalty after 30 seconds, Spurs were already bossing them and I think would have won comfortably without the red card.

On the subject of the red card, it's never nice to see somebody get one for retaliating and I think Lamela was very lucky not to get one too, but it's happened to Son a couple of times so these incidents balance out.

Very happy, but still annoyed about that ridiculous penalty against Newcastle as we should be second instead of fifth. I hope those two points don't make or break the season.

Credit where it's due, Ozil has offered to pay the Gunnersaurus's salary to save him from redundancy. Although it's probably a small drop in the ocean of what he earns, it's a decent thing to do considering he rarely even plays for the club any more. I criticised him for exactly this a few months ago, so it's only fair to point out this show of compassion. I hope many other footballers follow suit, I mean let's face it, on their ridiculous salaries, they could keep entire lower league teams going through covid!

And no mention of Villa's result on sunday yet!?

I've no love for Ozil anymore, he's done bugger all for over two years but fair play to him for this gesture.

The club I love are really testing my patience with petty actions like this though, I mean what does he earn as the mascot plus whatever his other role is? 25/30k? How does getting that off the wage bill help secure the future of the club?!?!

Getting the two none home grown players that we can't register in the league squad would save that in a day or two but no, we can't even give our overpaid dross away.

Honestly I'm happy that we've got Partey but don't tell me axing the bloody mascot (plus other redundancies) was essential to get that deal over the line when we spunked over 20 million, plus wages, up the wall on Cedric and Mari between January and the start of the window.

Sorry, rant over.

Anyway, Partey actually has a song dedicated to him from a Ghanean group:

For me, the red card was a nonsense. NEVER a red. Not even a yellow. Nor was Lamella's initial shove. I would have booked Lamella for diving though. His reaction was pathetic. Great result for Spurs though. Albeit I haven't seen the game, for some strange reason I can't bring myself to watch MOTD2

I've been busy with Munchkin's b'day, covid makes it all a ball ache. That and I have been ignoring all football.
HOW do you ship 7 to ****ing Aston Villa!?
Granted 1 was handed to them on a plate by Adrian, 4 mins in. That set the tone. On that note, when have we seen Adrian do stuff like that before, ohhh yeah, the last time he started a meaningful game for Pool, against Atleti in CL and he single handedly won the game.....for them!
Even at that, no club should then go on to ship another six from there. Every time Villa attacked they looked like they would score. Pool were a shambles. Three deflected goals is unfortunate (not sure I can remember a side scoring 3 deflections before) but the Villa players shouldn't have had that time and space.

The more I think about it, the more it strikes me as "just one of those games". Everything Pool tried went wrong, everything Villa hit flew in, or deflected off a Pool player and deflected in. You get games like that every few years. It's just annoying that it happened to Pool but sure.

The derby will be interesting. Everton haven't played a decent side yet but will come into it with confidence sky high. Pool's confidence will be rocked. You would hope there will be a reaction from them. Certainly Gomez can't play that badly again. He was so bad he had me wishing Moreno was still there. If I was a betting man I would probably go for a draw.

Never mind MOTD2, you should have seen Graeme Souness ranting about 'Latins' on Sky  and yes I agree, I can think of a few similar games in recent years where it's just not your day and everything goes wrong.

CL final by any chance!?

**** me. Can anyone explain to me HOW pickford stayed on the pitch there?
Yes, VVD was offside (by half a bicep, they changed the definition this season so that is now offside, last year it was onside. Insert your own comment about offsides) but Pickford comes out with what could have been a leg breaker. VAR looked at it and decided it wasn't a foul!? Seriously, that is one of the worst tackles you will see this season. Bt sports in house ref/boring bastard even said you can still be sent off for bad fouls after a whistle is blown.
FFS the ref even sent Richarlison off for another shocking tackle AFTER he had blown up for a previous foul. So how he **** does Pickford stay on!?

Pool should have been playing against 10 men for 80mins.

As for the disallowed equaliser, Mane is offside by millimetres. Ok, he is offside, and those ridiculously tight calls are bloody annoying, but offside is offside. I still can't get my head round Pickford being on the pitch for 90mins though. That was the sliding doors moment in the game.

Tight offside calls are annoying, especially when it is millimetres or half a bicep that decide it, but offside is offside. I can accept that. WHAT IN THE NAME OF GOOD **** is VAR for if it looks at Pickford's foul and sees nothing wrong with it. I've not heard a single person who thinks it's anything other than a stonewall red. That includes some very one eyed Utd fans.

Anyone who says "Pool get the rub of VAR decisions" (is firstly a bitter moron, but) show them that game and get them to come back to me.

Genuine question, how is that not a red card!?

They need to change the off side rule as it's ruined the game as it is, absolutely ridiculous IMO.
