Nice one Jose!

Liverpool where there for the taking, confidence at rock bottom, press starting to speculate on Klopp's tenure, their defence looking even more ropey than ever, their most effective attacking player out with a busted hamstring, your own team playing the best footy they have played in years, so obviously the best tactic is to turn up and park the bus.

Talk about passing up a glorious opportunity. Still you got the bore draw you wanted

If I was a Utd fan I'd be severly pissed off that he didn't even try to win that game.

As a Liverpool fan, and primarily a football fan, it's just another reason to despise that twat. Say what you like about Klopp, Pep, Wenger, Potchetino, Zidane, or even the likes of Ancelotti, not one of them would have parked the bus like that. Jose really does suck any joy out of a football game between 'big' sides. Hateful ****.

  I love Jose, he cracks me up. I love Liverpool fans as well they crack me up.

I just don't get why he didn't even try to win. pool were absolutely there for the taking.
It's like having a fantastic hand in poker and just tamely folding

Joking aside I know what your saying, Monday night football was interesting, they actually talked some sense tonight. Probably because Gary Neville was not their! Jamie Carragher basically said what I think and that's he hasn't got a problem with the way JM plays in big games like that, he's done it for years and it works. Problem is it's not working anymore, Utd aren't nicking these games 1-0 or 2-1.

Two points that know one else has made, first why did Coutinho come off with 20 minutes to go? Also Man Utd are missing Pogba without a doubt.

On Coutinho, him and Firminio were only back from a 6,000 mile round trip to play for Brazil. Not even sure they had been back for 24 hours. I was a bit surprised to see them come off but when you think they probably spent 12 hours on a plane the day before it's understandable. A question I can't answer is why Ox came on (or why Moreno gets any pitch time).

We all know Jose parks the bus in big away games (and moans when small teams do it against him) I think the problem is more the way the PL has gone, a pt in the away game (or more if it works) isn't really enough now. There are 6 sides who are capable of taking points off each other on a good/bad day. Back when that tactic worked for Jose there were really only 2-3 sides he needed to worry about. The way City are playing now, yes i know it's early, it looks like teams will need to go for the 3pts in pretty much every game.
I could understand if Jose was playing Real Madrid at the Bernabeau but let's be fair that was a very beatable Liverpool.

I actually think Fellaini is as big a loss to Utd atm as Pogba. Fellaini is a big lumbering oaf, and I do laugh everytime I see him a Utd shirt......BUT he is the sort of player who suits Jose's style and who Jose can get the best out of it. He is very effective for Jose's Utd. He'll never win fans player of the year but he does bring something else to utd that no one else in that squad does.

I would have left Coutinho on, he was the one player that looked like he was going to make something happen. Just my opinion and who am I to question Klopp. I don't agree with you about Fellaini, although I take your point but Utd haven't been playing as well with him in the side, Pogba is the one midfielder we have who offers something different especially in a game like that. Matic, Fellaini, Carrick and even Hearrera to a degree don't have the forward drive of Pogba.

Liverpool did a really good job of pressing Matic as well, every time he got the ball he was forced to pass back or side ways. Yeah Man City are going to take some stopping, it is early days still but at the moment who wouldn't be suprised if they whent the entire season unbeaten in the league. Spurs are still going nicely, I'm gonna put some money on Watford doing a Leicester.

Yer man at Watford is a quality manager. I can't remember his bloody name though.

As for Fellaini he is Utd's plan B, or an additional outlet if they are under the cosh. Horses for courses.

Crazy, I know the financial penalties for dropping to the championship are severe but come on, look at there first 8 games. Who do they think they are, at best they are a mid table side. Realistically anything 17 and up would be fine

Agreed, it does seem very premature. Although I did hear someone on the radio ask how many of the signings they had made since winning the league have actually improved the team. I can't think of any. Mind you Shakespeare can't be held responsible for all of them, those signed since he took over do count against him though.

As for last night's games, massive well done to Spuds, that pt along with Dortmund drawing has them in the knockout stages already. Ok, not mathematically, but to pip them Dortmund need to beat Apoel, Real AND Spurs and hope Spurs don't beat Apoel (or get something at home to Real). I can't see the first part or the second part happening, never mind both.
The added bonus for Spuds is Dortmund will drop in to the Europa League with a point to prove (and possibly a new manager, one who knows how to win games) and that's not going to help Arsenal's chances, in what is realistically their best bet for CL qualification.

As for Pool, it's hard to get too excited about that result cos those boys were pretty poor. I know you can only beat what is put in front of you and a big win does wonders for confidence, but they were pretty kack. I'll also put money on Pool not scoring at the w/e now. Always the way, you score a bucket load one week and can't hit a barn door the next. Still it's only spuds away..

Thing for me is with Shakespear he took the job on a temporary position, got a couple good result's then they gave him a job. Most manager jobs are doomed from the start these days and the temporary ones don't usually last longer than a season.

English sides doing well, have you noticed all the teams in England that are playing in CL play on Saturday before the CL games. Is it coincidence or planned? Hey Liverpool couldn't score against Man Utd Weasel, shows how good we are.

99.9% sure that is on purpose. in the same way that the teams in the Europa League (and playing on a Thursday night) play their PL matches on the Sunday or even Monday fixtures where possible

With regards to Shakespeare, I'm actually quite shocked he has lasted the length of time he has. Take a moment to think how quick that senior management team were to whip the rug out from under Ranieri when he had a poor run of games (3 or 4) so soon after winning the league... Shakespeare has had a comparatively easy ride given the results he has achieved since taking over a league winning side and as has been mentioned, what has he changed (positively) to the playing staff let alone adding anything new tactically in that time!

I just can't believe common sense has been used regarding English clubs in the CL. It's probably been the case for a couple of seasons but Mei got a Man Utd supporter I've only just noticed.

Yeah it is intentional. The FA aren't totally stupid.

Biting my tongue on making a comment about Utd fans here

Don't bite your tongue say it, it's only banta Weasel. I don't really despise Liverpool like I make out, probably because they haven't been winning anything for ages!

I think some of the hatred between the fans at the games these days is ridiculous, from a time gone by and their is no place for it anymore. I suppose when I first whent to a Liverpool v Man Utd match I thought it was funny, but I was 18 and it was nearly 20 years ago.

I remember when Man Utd were in the CL final against Barcelona in 2009, I was on a flight from Malaysia and I got talking to a Liverpool fan, he said what are you doing on this flight you should be watching the game! Anyway he was really nice.

That said the 2005 CL was the worst night of my life and when they nearly won the league a phew seasons back I was considering leaving the UK for good.

I also hope Liverpool win the league in my life time, as it will mean I will live into my 90's.

Comedy genius

I can honestly say the last time I cheered for Utd was the CWC final in '92. Ever since then I'll happily cheer for whoever they are playing, even if it is Real Madrid.
