PL 2016-2017 Thread

Yes Arsenal's luck seems to have run out! I take it all back :) Spurs made a real meal of that Burnley match

We made more of a meal of our game yesterday! Daylight robbery- actually felt sorry for Hull. Says something when 'The Post' is voted man of the match

As for Liverpool Everton, neither side deserved to win that. Utterly dreadful.

I heard there were 8 minutes injury time, is that true?

Jamy Liverpool are!

Yeah, though TBF Steklenberg was down injured for ages and obviously you can't ask a team to play on while their keeper is off the pitch getting treatment. There was also a mêlée after Barkley tried to snap Henderson's leg. How the Lino, who was looking STRAIGHT at it with an unhindered view thought that wasn't worthy of a red I'll never know.

Eight minutes did surprise me a bit, but Steklenberg was down for ****ing ages. Add in four or five substitutions and it was probably wasn't unreasonable.

I remember Blackpool v Man Utd being 11 minutes added on. I think the record is held by Man City and Swansea, something like 12 minutes.

The seven minutes added on against Wednesday in 93' was the best.

Swansea sack Bradley, what a surprise how can anyone running a professional football club make such an appalling dicision in the first place to appoint him.

Alan Pardew taking over then?

Yeap. Sums my feels up pretty well. I always thought of Swansea as a well run club but their last three managerial appointments have all been poor. His was shambolically bad. WTF did they expect to happen if they appointed someone who was managing in the French second division? It's not as if he was setting the place on fire down their either.
Ok, Wenger was managing in Japan (Grampous 8 if memory serves) when Arsenal appointed him, and even the Spurs fans on here must admit he was a good appointment (gone stale possibly, but still a good appointment in '96). At no point did Bradley look like he had what it takes to cut it in the PL. The cynic in me suspects that Swansea's American owners looked at his nationality and got blinded to facts. Mind you, the lack of competance can be said for a lot of ex-pros who get PL jobs just because they were good players, and also a lot of current PL bosses who seem to get jobs because they have a great track record (of failure), yes Moyesy i'm looking at you!

Giggs is the favourite to succeed Bradley!?
Cos what Swansea need now is a manager who has bog all experience and knows nothing about a PL relegation scrap? Wise up.
Giggsy is dammed by his time as an assistant at Utd, under two successive managers and his own record as boss includes a defeat at the hands of a Gus Poyet managed Sunderland. Aye, that's the guy you want to keep you up. ****ing shoot me now.
If Giggsy wants a job he should go to League one or the Championship and learn the ropes.
Swansea would be well advised to look to Europe for a new boss, there are no decent managers available with PL experience. Pardew is a tosser and a poor manager. Or if they want to appoint someone with no experience, rather than Giggsy, why not try Gary Rowett? At least he has proved he can manage at club level.

Sad thing is those idiots who made such a piss poor appointment, not sure if they appointed Guadaline as well, are still there and in charge of the next appointment. They should be sacked as well as Bradley. Picking a manager is one of the most important parts of their job and by god did they **** that up. If Swnasea go down, and i'd say that's odds on, they should take the majority of the blame.

Obviously pleased with the Spurs result last night but I think the double punishment penalty and sending off was very harsh. I was almost pleased he missed it! I really don't think refs should be able to straight red somebody for giving away a penalty unless it's a kick to the face or something. The result definitely didn't reflect the game, Southampton were much better for most of the first half.

Have only seen a picture of the penalty on BBC sport ap and they made it sound like Redmond fell into Alli rather than deliberately cleaned him.
I thought Refs had discression now? Gomez wasn't sent off for Watford when he cleaned Beneteke on Sat. Or is that just more inconsistent refereeing?

Well that Liverpool city game is easily the best game of the season. Non stop excitement, end to end attacking football, goals galore.

I now know how Chelsea and Utd fans feel when watching their sides under Jose playing in a game against another 'big' side. Tht was utterly ****ing dreadful. I've had more entertaining root canals. I'd have taken that result at kick off, but i was hoping for an ounce of entertainment. I was left disappointed.

Spuds did well today, I saw the first half and Watford were a shambles. I know they have a massive injury crisis but they were all over the place. Spurs didnt even need to play that well to be 2 up and cruising midway through the half. Ideal kind of game for them around the busy festive period. They just turned up and watford bent over.

As a Spurs fan, I'm obviously pleased with the decent win today, helping the goal difference along the way too. However, I must make not of the Giroud goal... wow, a bit of luck (no question as it hit the underside of the bar), but for audacity to attempt it let alone pull it off... tekkers!

No one likes to see their team concede but most of us stood there and applauded Giroud's goal... Whether it was an audacious effort or just pure instinct to send the ball goalwards I'll never know... Bloody good all the same; just a bit sickening!

I think the 'Scorpion kick' was mostly luck to be honest, I have watched it a few times and he is looking backwards away from the goal. Similar to Sinclair's famous overhead kick, amazing to watch but a one in a hundred chance of going in.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan's looks a bit more deliberate, at least he was looking where the ball ended up!

Mike Dean is a disgrace. Terrible vs Saints the other day and utterly abysmal today. The sending off was crazy. The second Man U goal was so awful, you just have to laugh. Somehow, I don't think the the decisions would've gone the same way had they been at the other end...

...and then there's the Sky coverage. Nearly 40 minutes after the game, they finally discussed WHU for all of 5 minutes. Really, really going off modern football.
