latest film/ dvd you have seen

Watched Ghostbusters Frozen Empire and Kong x Godzilla over the weekend. Kong wasn't as bad as I thought, although you can tell the script writers have been on strike. I didn't like Ghostbusters, they've just made it for the sake of it and it lacks direction and meaning. My kids really liked it though and they're 11 and 13. My son loved Kong. Both films are aimed at kids so there you go.

Started to watch The Gentleman on Netflix, 2 episodes in and loving it!

Also watched both seasons of Traitors on iplayer which were both a really good watch.

Went to see Raiders at VUE tonight, great to see it back on the big screen ❤

We did the same on Saturday- fantastic to see it on the big screen for the first time since I was 8! Was the first time the family had seen it in the cinema. The print was excellent and the sound, obviously including the score, was amazing.

Indeed mate, I was pleasantly surprised by the picture quality. Everyone in there sat till the end of the credits listening to Johnny's score play out ❤

Has anyone seen Atlas yet on Netflix?
I enjoyed it, it romped along with lots of action bits.
Lots of other franchise references in it, it reminded me of Aliens, Avatar and Terminator.
Recommend.

I see there's a new Alien film out. Set between Alien and Aliens. Hopefully it's a return to form and not a continuation of the slow death that franchise has been going through

Nope, not got Netflix at the mo, but thinking of renewing. Will give it a go, if we do... although, Avatar... eeewwww!

I never finished watching Avatar (the water one) absolutely bloated load of garbage.
I think there are more of these on the way aren't there?

Yeah, 2 or 3, unfortunately. Only 3 films have ever actually made me cross in the cinema: Batman & Robin, Pearl Harbour and Avatar: The Way of Water. I wanted to walk out of all 3. How the hell did it make so much money? I know literally two other people who went to see it. Utterly pompous and embarrassingly unoriginal rubbish

I haven't been to the pictures since Covid and moving to Devon. There isn't a large cinema complex anywhere near here, so I would rather watch at home. I can have the subtitles on, stop and rewind as I like and if I don't like it turn it off (which I find myself doing more and more)

It's a bit like the new Dune, I want to see it, but can't get past the 30 minute mark…I suppose the ability to turn it off makes me find it easier to do?

I haven't been to the pictures since Covid and moving to Devon. There isn't a large cinema complex anywhere near here, so I would rather watch at home. I can have the subtitles on, stop and rewind as I like and if I don't like it turn it off (which I find myself doing more and more)

Another cultural masterpiece made its screen debut for me last night, Rise of the Footsoldier: Vengeance

As you can imagine the film delivers at the highest levels of cerebral function, the complex nuances of the script are matched by few others.

Alternatively it's a great option to shut off all brain function beyond essentials of existence and lose 90 minutes.

Loved it.

I have seen a few movies last week.

First I saw There's a Girl in My Soup, a really funny movie with a very young Goldie Hawn and a very naughty Peter Sellers

Then I saw another really funny movie, Seems Like Old Times again with Goldie Hawn, but also with a really great Charles Grodin, who passed a away a few years ago. Chevy Chase are awesome in the movie

The last movie I saw was Nothing in Common, not a movie I would call a comedy, but there are still some fun scenes in it, but it is also a very sad movie, but it was really great. Tom hanks plays great in this movie, Jackie Gleason plays his father in the movie and do a very great job in the movie.

LMK what you all think of the latest Alien movie, if you go see it. I'll hardly get a chance to see it. Not sure the kids would enjoy it. But I'll try and catch it at a later date if it's a return to form and not more dross like Alien Re-erection, or the last two films…whatever the **** they were called

Been going back through the latest Planet Of The Apes franchise this week - Watched Rise and Dawn so far, War is tonight and then hopefully catch Kingdom at the cinema over the weekend
