Disney acquires Lucasfilm!!!

30 years, sounds good, but maybe they will use a lot of cosmetics on luke, leia and solo to make them younger  so there will be maybe only 20 years or 25 years between the movies.

I think we also will see a skywalker as the main character, there has always been a skywalker as the main character in the first 6 movies, maybe we will follow luke kids as the main characters.

But there is also always a bad guy in a star wars movie. Vader and the Emperor is dead, who could be the new one ?

"Two there should be; no more, no less. One to embody power, the other to crave it"

Perhaps there's another Sith hanging around somewhere, after all, the Emperor was a planner of all eventualities.

I think Luke will be heavily involved, but that there will be a new hero in the main role. Wouldn't surpise me if it's a completely new character. Would make sense for alot of reasons like not having to skirt around crossovers with the EU, and it gives Disney the chance to bring their own dimension to the films.

Great ideas people, I just keep swaying from vaguely excited to OMG what the **** are they going to do!!!!!

Maybe if I close my eyes and count to ten I might wake up to find out this whole thing has been a bad dream... Oh no that could even be the plot for EpVII

SW do a Dallas?

Do you guys think we will see chewbacca in the new movie ?

According to starwars.wikia chewbacca dies 21 years after ROTJ

About the sith, maybe the emperor will use the force to come back in a new clone :?

It will be interesting to see if Disney acknowledge the expanded universe (esp' Chewies death), I would love it if they did, but there are holes all over the place so they will be making the rules from here on in :(

If I remember rightly in one of the books set after ROTJ there is a clone of the Emperor.

Dark empire comic.

Lucas has always said that the EU cannot do anything dramatic with the main characters but approved Chewie's death.

I'm unsure about a clone Emperor. He'd be stupid not to but he was so arrogant did he fear death?

I also hope disney will acknowledge the expanded universe.

I think the emperor dies 3 times after ROTJ, so he uses 3 clones. Maybe he has a 4th clone  or has found a new trick to get back 8)

Maybe the movie will have something to do with the creation of the new republic ?

Bit late to the party but i'll stick my two pence in.....

Mainly happy for my son as he will get to experience the excitement of a new star wars release and yes i am excited too altho i do have severe reservations for what the new ones might hold :?

As for an opening scene, how about boba fett flying out of the sarlac pit having escaped soon after the empire fell (so around the end of rotj) and then tye storyline picks up some 20 years later.....I would love to see the old main characters back and forsee Luke being a jedi master training his nephew or niece (han and leia must have gone off and got it on... onscreen and off  ) c3po and r2 will def be in there and to appease the political correctness brigade c3po may have come out of the closet  well there are quotas to fulfil.

As for the argument, the original trilogy was made for kids of that generation using the cutting edge of technology, the next 3 followed suit, they werent really made for us original fans, they were for a new generation of fans to pick up the batton. And this was a generation brought up on cgi who werent going to accept anything other than the cutting edge of technology for their time.

And altho we are only a little further ahead in technological advances surely they wtill be using the latest cutting edge advances and thats 3d :(

For me personally the cgi ruined the way the characters looked, which was fake, you cabt beat puppetry but i cant see them spending time creating real life puppets and creatures when they can do it all on a computer.

To echo a repeated thought it clearly keeps the vintage collecting alive.... so better get on with completing my sets before the next generation want to star getting their hands on them. People are living longer so it will be ages before some of those collections come back onto the market.

"In its belly you will find a new definition of pain and suffering as you are slowly digested over a…thousand years."
―C-3PO translating for Jabba the Hutt

And he doesn't even need to pop out immediately given what Jabba said, 20-30 years in there with metal armour on is a walk in the park...

Cheers Pomse, it would go a long way to righting a wrong when Lucas killed him off far too easily :) i couldnt accept vader or the emperor rising from the dead, but with boba its a different story :)

and yes mrpalitoy you are most certainly right saying boba's armour would protect him.... unlike the stormtroopers whose armour was so **** it couldnt withstand laser blasters, lightsabres or even rocks thrown by ewoks :)

And we already know from robot chicken that boba initially survives entry into the sarlac :) so lets hope lucas and disney do the honourable thing and fly him out of the pit :)

Guy's Boba lives!

He escaped the Sarlacc, I think he even ended up in another one and escaped that too.

I even remember reading about Luke falling into one and escaping too.

Escaping the Sarlacc is obviously a piece of piss

Well whatever they do they will be doing it without Rick McCallum who has now officially retired from Lucasfilms.

Not sure what to make of that, he was a steady hand and his work on clone wars as the overseer was good, on the other hand that is the last of the old guard out so the way is totally clear for the new guard to come in.

Various site are reporting that Hamill and Fisher will be back and Ford most likely will be back. Personally I think starting the story with the main OT characters in their twilight years and having their offspring and other new character taking the mantle is the way forward and that is what they will do. I agree a little EU buyin would be the icing on the cake, even if it is just names and places etc.

Hi monkey_roo, cool if it is correct that fisher, hamill and ford is back :D

Do you guys think we will see the millennium falcon in the next movie and is it only episode 7 there will come or do they also make episode 8 and 9. 3 movies as they always do ?

I have been reading in some danish news papers where they were writing about 3 new movies is that correct ?
