Amazing game!
Another atrocius VAR decision last night, I was so angry I turned the TV off when the penalty was given so didn't even realise we scored a late equaliser until this morning 
Honestly though this **** is really ruining football, why can't a ref occasionally grow some balls and say actually no I've looked at the monitor and still think it was nothing
if that's a penalty then there should be five or six every match

if that's a penalty then there should be five or six every matchI saw the last 5 mins of stoppage time. Garvial (spelling) cleared one off the line with only a few minutes to go as well. Must have been a great watch.
As for the Newcastle penalty, I can see why it was given. Bentancur isn't looking at the ball, at any stage, and grapples with Dan Burn for the duration. It falls in that grey area of 'is it enough for a foul?'
If it happened on the half way line it's a foul all day long.
BUT….you see **** like that four or five times a week, if not in every game and Refs dont do anything. I have no objection if they are going to give a pen every time something like that happens, but you know for sure there will be a dozen examples NOT given this weekend alone.
Ohh and Howard Webb will come out and defend the Ref/VAR and say they got it right.
It's the inconsistency that ***** fans off as much as daft interpretation.
If somebody who doesn't follow football asked me to explain th difference between Arsenal and Spurs, this weekend gives the perfect example. Both teams opponents scored three goals without them scoring any, however Arsenal's opponent put two of those goals in their own net.

I saw the Arsenal game. **** me they were *****. More cutting instinct from an unset jelly.
Their first shot on target came with about ten to go and they were already one up.
Don't get me wrong, they were the better side, but Wolves dug in really well and the few decent chances there were evenly split. Yonder Korean forward formWolves should really have scored late in the first half.
That first goal was the definition of a fluke.
A corner that came despite Saka being offside* and then the ball hits the post and keeper and goes in. Wolves were really really unlucky not to get, what for them would have been, a massive point.
Yes, yer Wolves boy could have seen red for that tackle. He is trying to pull out, his leg is bent and not straight, but I have seen them given. Probably a good example of what the German's call an "orange card". More than a yellow but not quite a red.
I have to say I thought Eze was lucky to escape unpunished when he kicked yer man in the head. An accident, but I have seen boys sent off for that too.
Ditto for yer man who decided to kick Florian Wirtz square in the chest in the Liverpool game, that was a LOT more a red than Eze (his was a yellow for me). How VAR looked at the Wirtz one and thought, "nah, free kick is fine, he only plants his studs on his chest, that's allowed" is beyond me. But then……VAR innit.
* Returning to that first Arsenal goal, this isnt an anti Arsenal dig, it's more a dig at that rule. I know VAR don't go back for corners and overrule them in situations like that, but for me they really should.
There was a goal against Pool a few years ago, I can't even remember who they were playing, the opposition hoofed it long, their CF was stood 3 or 4 yards behind VVD, probably 25 ish yards from goal. VVD heads it clear cos no sane CB is going to leave it and assume none of his team mates have fallen asleep. He's going to take no chances and clear it. VVD's header drops straight to one of the other teams midfielders who rifles it first time into the top corner. Goal. No offside cos VVD played it.
How does that make sense? VVD ONLY played it cos the CF was there. That is the literal definition of interfering with playing. If there's no advantage gained ehhh how come the ball is in Liverpool's net?
Similarly the Arsenal goal, they get an advantage from the offside, the corner, so they have benefitted by it. Offside is black and white. There is no subjective element to it. You are either on or off. Something like the Saka one could have been checked and over turned long before the corner was taken.
But that would be too sensible. Let's just use VAR for stupid **** and let the moron in stockleybpark show everyone he knows rule 457 part B section 3 clause 4.
And yes, Sam Johnstone didn't cover himself in glory dealing with that corner.

Agreed, we were dog ****, and as for off side for Saka - if it was rugby and they scored they'd go back far enough to rule it out. No idea how far back they are supposed to go for VAR (Varies Alot Regularly).
I do think Arsenal should get some credit for the way they've coped with injuries. Yes, spent a lot etc, but if you wish to play with intensity and compete on multiple fronts what else are you supposed to do?

Yep particularly impressive how they've remained solid at the back with a constant rotation of players, Spurs can't even play coherently with their starting xi at the moment (whatever that is)
Fair point on injuries, but that is an annual thing with Arsenal. Arteta over plays players, then they get injured en masse and suddenly there is an injury crisis. I'm no advocating a "Tinker man" style 7 changes a week, but a bit more common sense managing game time.
Did Saka not doing his hammy or something in the 80th minute of a game against some ***** they could easily have beaten without him, when it was about 4-0, last year?
That's the kinda thing I mean. He should have been benched and called on if needed, or at worst subbed at 2-0/HT, not left on to bugger himself.

Just watched the goals- looked like a cracker!
In other news, Villa going from 19th to 3rd is pretty incredible, just goes to show what a reasonably short winning streak can do for your league position, the title race is looking much more interesting suddenly. Spurs are due one soon surely

Nope. Been playing much better under Nuno, but been very unlucky and can't buy a win. Should've beaten Brighton, Man U, Villa and Fulham, but drew two and lost two. Feels like relegation. 7 points from next 3 is the bare minimum.
Yes I watched the West Ham game last night, it was super unlucky to concede two penalties in the space of about 5 minutes but what an idiot Welbeck is for trying to showboat and missing the second one
And of course Villa had to choose yesterday to not turn up and end their long unbeaten run no doubt they'll be back to their unbeatable best for the FA Cup game against Spurs next weekend!

Sorry I missed this, yes I don't know what it is with Spurs and getting two or three players sent off in every big game. I can't blame the managers because it's been happening for years, I can't blame the players because the entire team has changed over the last couple of years, is it some kind of curse!?Dirty Spurs, bleeping GBH merchants

Good old Utd. Wolves not won in 15 so Utd try to cheer them up by giving them a point.
They had WH, no wins in 8, Bournemouth, no wins in 10, and Wolves, no wins in 15, all at OT and won none of them. They are almost as **** as Liverpool.
I dunno what it is about Pool Spuds games but there is always drama. Be it cards, like last week, or tonnes of goals like last year, or the VAR dropping the world's biggest bollock and disallowing a goal they agreed was onside cos "alright mate, yeah mate, sure mate, innnit, yeah mate…..wait, why are you playing on mate, that was onside mate? You gave it offside…..ahhhh mate!" (Top notch procedures there boys! ******s) add in the currently discontinued obligatory leg breaker from Harry Kane that goes utterly unpunished cos England Captain innit, and they are quality entertainment for a neutral.
Which is something I CAN'T say about Arsenal. Dear god they are hard to watch. I dunno what it is but they just bore me to ******* tears. Don't get me wrong, great side/squad and rightly at the top of the table, but there is just something about them. It's as if they are playing with the handbreak on. Maybe it's partly their Tony Pulis level obsession with set pieces, but they are a much better side than one that needs to hope to pick up something from a set piece. I watched the first half of Chelsea Bournemouth last night, which was a good game, then turned over to watch the first half of Arsenal. After 45 mins I was bored shitless so put Utd Wolves on. It was ten times more entertaining.
I gotta say as well, and I dunno why this is either, but I really really dislike Arteta. He just looks like he needs a kicking.
I don't really know why he bugs me so much. I don't normally dislike managers. Fergy and Jose aside, the others I dislike are more cos their hoofball football that they think is some revolutionary concept and not straight out of the 80's. Hello Fat Sam and Tony Pulis, I'm looking at you!
Arteta doesn't play Klopp's "heavy metal football" or "tiki taka" but up until 18 months ago his sides were quite watchable. Now, I'd sooner let the wife put Strictly on and try and crack one off using my patented sandpaper wanking glove.
It'd be hard to watch if Arsenal win the title.
Nothing against the club or any player, even Mr Indecisive (Zubimendi) but seeing Arteta all smiling and happy lifting the PL will be hard.

It's hard for me to give an objective opinion on Arsenal for obvious reasons, but I will say that if they win the title this year they will have earned it, by hook or by crook. You may remember a few seasons ago I was saying it would have been fluke of the century if a manager with no previous experience, never mind PL experience, won the league title. But after five years of consistently performing well and finishing second a few times, I couldn't call it a fluke any more even if I didn't like it.
Yep even though they hate us I have a lot of Hammers friends so don't want to see them go down again, surely they are better than that. I am liking the possibility of Coventry being back in the PL again though!
Having been there a few times before, this is starting to feel like a relegation season. Just hope Todibo isn't out for too long- he's been great since Nuno joined and our only decent centre half. We need to buy well in Jan, but who, in their right mind would come to WHU at the moment?

Yep this is the exact feeling I have with Spurs, a top six plus side for over a decade and now although I don't think we'll get relegated, this crop of players are mid table, I would only keep a couple. As you say how quickly things can change
