I knew City had never won at the new Spurs stadium, but I didn't know they had never even scored a goal there. That's some record against one of the world's best teams. Kind of sums up my frustration supporting them, can beat City no problem and then we'll get knocked out of the FA Cup by a third tier team in a few weeks.

It's almost like you've seen Spurs play before... :ROFLMAO:

Still, I'll take a win over City any day. And we actually deserved it too, which was nice!

Yes you could definitely argue Spurs didn't deserve to be 2-0 up against City a couple of weeks ago, but no complaints tonight

I bet you fancy City less now your second favourite north london side did you a favour! Lol

Aye the only way Klopp leaves is if he walks. And if FSG don't give him the money to spend I wouldn't blame him. He's worked miracles on a shoestring. No on else could do what he's done. And yes, luck has played a part. Coutinho for 140m anyone?

Speaking of managers I didn't even notice for the entire match that Conte wasn't there, I forgot about his surgery. I wonder if the improved performance was due to a bit less pressure from the bench.

City charged with over 100 counts of breaching FFP by the FA/PL.
What odds the worst that happens is City get hit with a fine of…..30k. Or if they are really unlucky 300k. Something the equivalent of one week's wages for KDB.
That'll definitely teach them and is a totally fair punishment for breaching FFP that often.

The only way FFP rules will be stuck to is if the FA/PL grow and set and retrospectively dock them a lot of points, and I mean 30 odd. Thus stripping them of their titles. I'm not saying that cos I want Pool to be awarded them (I'm jot sure if it relates to the years they beat Pool by a point or other years), leave them as no one won it that year cos the winners cheated. The only way clubs will take FFP seriously is if the punishment fits the crime. A fine is a total waste of time.

It's like say,ing here Bill Gates your taxes are wrong so we are going to fine you 10k. He makes that in 3 seconds, dafuq does he care. City's owners have bottomless pits of money. Fining them is a total waste of time. Points deductions, relegations and or European bans (UEFA will probably have to agree to that) are all that will work.

I'd say there is more chance of Pool doing a PL and CL double this season than that happening though.

Marsch is gone, the guy Southampton payed Luton 5 million for three months ago is apparently going today as well, the merry-go-round is in full operation

Nt sure what Leeds expected. They are about where I would put them. That squad is a bottom 6 squad. As for Saints, they look doomed. Who else/better will they get?

I imagine both saw Everton win at the weekend and are hoping for the same team spirit / beginners luck for whoever they appoint! Not sure who decent would go to either though.

I heard a procession if Leeds fans on Shoutsport saying they would take Pochetino. Not sure what they were smoking, but 'in your dreams'

Thankfully I was driving at the time so missed it! I thought it was tomorrow 😊

Whatever you think of Arsenal being "lucky" to be top of the league* VAR not doing VAR things for offside is a complete joke

*correct at time of writing

Agreed, but I can't think of one team who hasn't been ****** over by VAR at least once. It's getting to the point of there being more mistakes than the ref using his eyes!

My sympathy for Arsenal disappeared after the game against Liverpool.

The problem isn't VAR, as such, it's the morons who work it. Not drawing lines on, drawing them from the wrong man (was that the Brighton game) and checking ABC but missing the blatant other incident (ie Pickford on VVD, and a couple of others) it's just piss poor. But then it's all done by referees who aren't great in the first place and who get zero punishment and zero public scrutiny/hassle/abuse.

I don't the buy the line of 'it needs and ex pro to be able to tell what should and shouldn't be given.' Especially as it is spouted mostly by Ex pro's. Any one of us could do a better job, we would know where to draw lines from and what to check. Granted we may not know the intricacies of the obscure laws (or understand quite what the **** is and isn't offside) but surely a group of, say 3, people watching it, one of whom is a ref, should be enough to correct the continuous stream of **** ups. If there is any disagreement between the 3 the majority opinion has it. That removes any referee BS of "ohhh but rule 37 section B sub section…." **** off. It's a foul/offside/handball, now give it.

As it stands, I would almost rather go back to no VAR.

Oohh and Everton to win tonight's tallest dwarf contest between two truly **** sides.

VAR for offside is so simple it should be automated, line starts at the goalmouth and moves back on a still frame of the ball being kicked, then stops if there's an infringement. The human (or ref) in from of the screen validates and says yes or no

I think they should just use VAR for off sides and goal line technology. Also change the off side rule to favour the attacker. Most of the problems come from off sides though.

Whatever you think of Arsenal being "lucky" to be top of the league

A stoppage time winner that hits the bar and deflects in off the Villa keeper.
With luck like that you can't NOT put in a title challenge.

Don't get me wrong, given a choice between City or Arsenal, I'd take Arsenal, and that's before the FA charges against City. Needless to say I would rather the paedophile and mass murder select 11 won the title than that other shower from the red half of Manchester lol. But feck me Arsenal have had some luck this season, or the teams they have played against have had bad luck (the two aren't necessarily the same). Weird that when their luck reverts to normal they drop points. Granted all teams at the top can point to "luck" in certain games (even the like of Fulham robbed Brighton yesterday, that was "lucky") but Arsenal using up a few season's luck.

I'm sure a totally neutral and dispationate person like @edd_jedi will back me up here! 😉 lol

Yeah I was going to say exactly the same thing, how many stoppage time own goals can you think of :ROFLMAO: although granted they did score another later.

Speaking of luck (or lack of it) apparently this isn't a handball if you're playing against Spurs:

Aye, the 4th was in the 99th minute when Martinez was up for a corner and all Martinelli had to do was run faster than the defender and control the ball.

As for the Spurs incident above, they are probably just evening it up for all the soft as **** pens that Harry Kane has "won" by "being clever*" 😉

* If he was foreign it would be diving or cheating but he is Engerlund captain, so it's ok!

ps, Mo Salah has never dived, nor has any Liverpool player I can think of. Stevie G definitely never did it.

Wish I'd put a tenner on Real when Pool were 2-0 up! It was a good game though (as a neutral) in the second half Real just looked so slick, it was almost like an exhibition match. I guess you can play with that confidence and lack of fear when you're leading by 3 goals, I wish we saw more of it

I didn't see any of it. I'm still refusing to watch Pool. Tiz too depressing. Idid have a lovely Utd fan giving me an unwanted running commentary on how **** Pool were. Even when it was 2-0 I said Real would win.
I dunno what it is but they always seem to beat Pool, before last night most of the time they had had large slices of luck, or Pool had had back luck, last night was men against boys from what I heard though.

Crazy the drop off from Liverpool, could still get top 4 though! Real Madrid haven't lost a European final since 1983 when Aberdeen beat them in the Cup Winners' Cup final. Certain Alex Ferguson was manager.
