The imaginatively titled Premier League 21/22 Thread

Some result that for Rangers.
Only job half done, and surely Dortmund cant be that bad in the second leg, but still impressive.

Celtic, ehhh less so. Bodo are far from a "bad side", they beat Roma 6-1 FFS, but that was a 'no win' game for Celtic. Everyone expected them to beat a side they assumed was **** cos they had never heard of them. When in fact they were a pretty solid outfit.

You have to think Dortmund will be full strength for the away leg, not that they shouldnt in theory have had enough last night to beat Rangers

So how may games do you think will be called off this weekend due to the weather? I bet I know which game won't

It's a funny old game, you lose two matches you should win and then win a game you should lose. The joys of being a Spurs fan!

It nearly ended in disaster though, how many times have Spurs conceded penalties from questionable handballs? That was no way intentional and I would have been furious if we had drawn because of it. So justice was done IMO.

Credit to Spurs today, that's the kind of performance I know they can deliver, so where is it most games?

Something I just noticed watching MOTD, every time Spurs got the ball in the net (4 including the disallowed goal) all of the City defenders and/or keeper immediately put their hands up for offside. Is this something Pep tells them to do? The first and last goals were nowhere near offside! Cheating bastards.

That was my thoughts as well. That would frustrate me if I was a Spurs fan, you can beat one of the best sides in the world, twice in the league, but lose stupid games to sides who aren't even half as good.

Saying that the picture from PL stat people below makes it look like the definition of daylight robbery. That wasn't the impression I got, although I was only half watching it and in silence as the munchkin couldn't hear Peppa Pig otherwise. Sigh.

Ohh and as for the pen, as a neutral, I do think that was a pen. I can definitely see why you would be pissed if it was given, and I was hoping it wouldn't be, but yer man has his hand coming down like that, it just doesn't look right. I think those should be given rather than not. He is throwing himself at it but his arm comes down in a weird way and refs are gonna give that. It's not as bad as the one Palace got against Spurs at the start of last season (or was it's Spurs got it against Palace?) but on balance, I'd have given it.

And Lloris, WTF are you doing for that furst goal?
Piss poor keeping, again. That new contract is gonna be for a lot less than it would have if this form keeps up.

Yep another howler from Lloris, how many more can he get away with before #2 gets a chance? You're right about the stats, they are normally the kind that terrify me as Spurs defending is usually horrific, but last night they... defended! :ROFLMAO: and we all know Kane and Son are arguably the most lethal counter attacking combo on the planet.

Haven't seen any action this weekend as away, but followed the days action on the radio and phone. Had a good laugh at Jonathan Woodgate on 5 Live, when Liverpool went 0-1 down he said the title race was over for Liverpool even before the game but it certainly is now! I said to the Mrs Liverpool will win this 3-1 and Spurs win at City, Liverpool could end up doing the Double or Treble.

City are certainly still in the driving seat but Liverpool are on an incredible run, again.

The quadruple is possible. I'd be happy with CL or PL. Don't care about the FAC or worthless cup unless they come with the PL or CL.

Has anyone seen Craig Pawson's reaction to Spurs winner?

He's the guy in the wooly hat. He's not Pep's assistant, or a Coach at City, he's.………..the fourth official.
The same guy who was on VAR and didn't given that penalty to Newcastle when Ederson came out and cleaned Fraser. Hhhmmmmmm

Surely it can't be that hard to figure out if an official is a fan (or hater) of particular teams!?

Well, our Craig is either a City fan or an Arsenal fan. Given the non pen against Newcastle, I know where my money would go.

Should you be allowed to ref at the top level if you are THAT big a fan of one of the sides!?

I don't really follow women's football but did anyone else see a Liverpool defender (playing for NZ in the ironically named "SheBelieves Cup") scored THREE own goals in the first half and was substituted before half time. I wonder if Spurs will try and sign her :ROFLMAO:

That own goal hat-trick is amazing! No chance with the second one, but the other two...!
