Premier League Discussion Thread Season 2014-15

And a third, Rooney jogs passed all four "defenders" and I use the term loosely. That's Spurs's season over now, and if Pocchettino doesn't recognise that these Sunday League retards all need replacing over the summer we're back to the 95-2005 days of finishing 10th-15th every season. It doesn't matter who you have up front, Bale, Kane or Jimmy Greaves, you cannot win games without a solid defence. I mean honestly, I've seen better defensive efforts from non-league teams in the FA cup this season, no excuse for it.

Oh My Days... we've been saying it on here all season, it's not new news, we need a new defence, lock stock and barrel! I'd been holding out on one or maybe even two of them coming good... clearly it's not going to happen.

The Rooney goal was just embarrassing.... Jog is indeed a loose term, it was barely a stroll and they literally stood and turned on the spot watching him as he strolled on by

Yeah Walker had a particularly terrible game, I thought he was the one coming off after 30 minutes, why the hell did he sub Townsend out so early? Dembele added no value in his place. And I've no idea what's going on with Vertonghen this season, every time he kicks the ball it looks like the first time he's ever tried it!

Good effort by Saints to frustrate Chelsea's charge on the title - thanks go to Burnley and Man City for maintaining the breathing space between us.

I bet you United fans are shitting yourselves after watching that comprehensive dismantling of Swansea!

With Chelsea and Man City both missing sitters and Spurs getting torn to shreds by a sub-par Utd i'd be well happy with a win away at tricky Swansea.

Oh aye, it was a good result. The old cliche of 'it's a tough place to go' is quite apt. It was more the fact it took Brendan until half time to make his tactical tweaks and stop Swansea from playing us off the park. I'd much prefer he did it half way through the first half. Still, i'll happily take the 3pts.

Fingers crossed for the same again on Sunday.

On that note, Liverpool v's Utd then El Classico afterwrads. That's not a bad days football. Unless of course Utd and Real both win.

Yeah, couple of huge games coming up for Pool. Man Utd at home, really a must win, followed by Arsenal away which will be very tough but a point there would be good.

Agreed. Those two games along with Utd's next 4 will go a long way to deciding who is in, or out, of the running for the CL spots.

Fair play to Joe Hart, the boy was outstanding last night. If he hadn't played like that it could well have been double figures.
As for the rest of the city team.........

I wonder will whoever replaces Pelligrini in the summer demand a full rebuild, or will he get lumbered with the current transfer committee and continue to be shafted.
Sounds like Bale is available, money isn't an object for city.

Messi was as good as i've seen him last night. It was a joy to watch. How that only ended 1-0 is a miracle. Were it not for Hart, and a couple of sloppy finishes from the Barca players, it could have been 5 or 6 easy.
