Spurs, what the **** was that? I mean, really! What the **** was that!?

Very harsh penalty and the red made it a double boot in the balls. Away to Chelsea that's game over, but Vertongen for the second, Sandro for the third and Walker for the fourth, that's some of the worst/most comical defending i've seen since i last watched Kolo Toure!

You're right, I honestly don't know how they manage it, it is a joke. I watch every Spurs game and it is always the same story - there are never enough players back to defend. Every single time, without fail, that the other team gets the ball, there is a mass panic as they counter attack. It's like AVB and now Sherwood told the defenders they're not allowed to stay in their own half! I have an idea - if you're a defender, DEFEND. I know that's "old school" football, but the back four are called that for a reason. I'm sure the other 6 players can do the rest. It's not f***ing rocket science, teams with good defensive records have players behind the ball!

Still, I think any ref that gives a penalty AND sends the player off at the same time (unless it's like the Suarez bite) is an utter ****. You may as well award 2 penalties or forefit the game.

Pete I don't know how you can say that after some of Spurs' performances this season!

Sherwood looked like he was going to cry in that post match interview but because he's English and 'pwopa' he doesn't ripped to shreds for it!

I'm dreading the game at the Theatre of **** this weekend - it's their cup final now and I think they'll edge it :( Still if the worst does happen then it should secure Gollum at least another season.

It's roll reversal time. For years, decades even, Utd have been the team pushing for the title and Liverpool have been the team pissing about in mid table looking like anything but a decent team. Other way round now (ok, Pool don't have a realistic title bid, but you get my point).
For all those years Liverpool raised their game when they played Utd, i remember the consecutive 1-0 wins with Danny Murphy getting both goals. I have a very funny feeling the rolls could be reversed this weekend with Utd lifting their game and beating Pool.

And i agree with Edd on th double punishment thing. It does seem daft. Fair enough if it's a blatant attempt to GBH the guy, but it wasn't even a penalty.

Or is he confusing a post by Edd as a post by Pete?

What an amazingly hilarious result!

Ooohh, right. Yeah, easily. That's a worse result than we've had all season. In 10 seasons actually.
We've had a couple of embarrassing beatings this season. No question. But they were, sad to admit it, by teams way better than us. Liverpool, City twice and now Chelsea. Deservedly demolished by far superior teams with better players.
Not Wigan. At home.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigin

I'm not so sure - I work near Wigan and am surrounded by lots of their fans and they had lots of confidence going into this game (new-ish manager, good-ish form). Live in Manchester and know loads of Citeh fans and they could see this coming. Rosler got his tactics spot on and they deserved to win, but I wouldn't say embarrassing! Although it is hilarious though! :)

As for embarrassing results there have too many for LFC in the last ten years which out do this! e.g. Barnsley 2008 FA Cup *cringe*

Spurs have been playing bobbins in this Europa League game - crap game too!

I think when you consider that no team in the history of british football has spent or has the power to spend as much as Man City has over the last few years and in a year when they were supposed to dominate the league and then to be knocked out of the only meaningful cup you may win this season by a team not even good enough to be in the top 6 of the league below the Premier League i think that's pretty embarrassing. Wigan deserved it, yes, but that should never happen. Ever. They were played off the park. At home. I've never heard of anything like that. Not in recent memory.
Now they've blown the FA Cup, are out of the Champions league and look 2nd best to win the Premier league. They still have a very good chance but i also think they have as good a chance or better, of not winning it. So all they could end up with at the end of the season is the ****ing worthless Cup (what's that even called now??). Oh dear.

But then Spurs have Soldado.

David Moyes must be on borrowed time. That was as flat and clueless as i've seen Utd.

Could and prob should have been more!

I was at the Spurs Arsenal game, you say we should have got something out of it but it's the same old **** as I keep saying. The back four just do not know how to defend, they are clowns. You'd think they would learn, but they never do.

Massive respect to Arsenal's man of the match Nasser Chadli too

Yeah i must say i don't think we deserved anything out of the game either. In terms of play and holding the ball and passing it about etc we were better than Arsenal all game long but where it mattered, as usual, i.e. the final pass and finishing and having a ****ing clue what to do once we get within 30 yards of the opponents ****ing goal, we were as clueless and uninspired as we have been all season.
Another deserved defeat for me. I'd say now we're the worst we've been since Ramos left the club. And before that, under Jol we were a darn site better. Gigantic decade sized step backwards for Spurs this season. The worst team in the top 5 by a astronomical distance and looking like we could end up, quite deservedly, 6th or 7th this season. "Chasing champions league" my arse! We'll be very very lucky to hold on to 5th this season.
