Premier League 22/23 Thread

Chelsea scored 10 and lost a cup final.................hello Kepa!

Not a huge surprise to see Chelsea out, but I was definitely expecting Arsenal and Spurs to win. MAYBE given the condensed nature of this season, a few less games will work out well come May. But the league cup is probably one of the competitions that Spurs and Arsenal have a realistic chance in. Granted, Arsenal are on fire in the league, but I still think City are a class above them.

Well that's another waste of a World Cup for England, should change the name to favourites FC. How can you pick 4 players for the same attacking midfielder role but only one left back and 3 players that can play right back. Mind boggling how Southgate is in charge still.

How can he pick someone who has looked like one of the worst CB's in the league for 18months?

I feel sorry for Ivan Toney and JWP. The latter in particular seems to have been harshly done by

For what it's worth I won't be watching it anyway. I'm no fan of the current England squad, it's just not exciting. More importantly for this particular WC Qatar and FIFA can get ****ed.

And if you're going to read any preview articles I'd highly recommend stumping up for the PDF version of the Josimar International edition- the 32 teams are replaced with interviews with 32 migrant workers in Qatar.

It is indeed and I admire anyone who makes a stand against it. The Premier League has two clubs owned by Saudi consortiums which I find really hard to stomach. But on the other hand I'm pretty naive to think that's the only part of the world which I support and is barbaric and corrupt. Basically unless I live in a cave living off the land with no technology then I'm part of the problem.

Liverpool's domestic cup draws return to form. When in doubt…..give Pool a PL opponent. City away, brilliant, our reserves and kids will do well against their second string……of proven internationals!

Those games are being played the Tuesday and Wednesday after the World Cup final. At least the England players will have had a good 2 to 3 weeks rest!

The whole restart is going to be a nightmare,
it's found to be early to mid august just with no preseason

YET AGAIN Spurs are losing until Royal is subbed off, and then they magically come from behind to win! I mean I'm no PL manager, but surely the dots must connect at some point...

Well that's the World Cup break upon us, if you had told me at the beginning of the season we'd only be 3 points behind City and above Liverpool at Christmas I would have bitten your arm off for it! But based on performances I'm not enjoying this season so far, it's been horrible to watch at times. Hopefully a fresh start after Christmas (and please somebody buy Royal in January!)

Yeap Arsenal will really out do themselves if there not in a title race come March, still think Liverpool are outsiders. Newcastle worth a punt IMO the way they are dominating Chelsea and they can spend big in January.

I mean there's 2 thirds of the season to go and the break for the World Cup could really screw over the ever intangible 'momentum' but you've got to enjoy the ride

Your optimistic @edd_jedi Conte has never played entertaining football, but he will probably get Spurs a trophy given the tools.

I don't demand Harlem Globetrotters style football, what's not acceptable (and frankly mind boggling for a team in the top four) is to have conceded 21 goals in 15 games! We are shipping 2 or 3 in nearly every game, we've scored exactly as many as Arsenal so it's our defence letting us down (how many seasons have I said that for now!?)
