Premier League 2012/13 Discussion Thread

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think Manchini is VERY lucky to still be in a job. I think he's a doing a very very mediocre job at City. Given the money and players at his disposal he should be a dozen points clear at the top.
His tinkering with formations (3 at the back in games when they don't even practice it in training) and personel (who is their 'first choice' CB pairing? Ditto for strikers) has cost City badly this year.
I'm amazed he's not under serious pressure.

As for his record in the transfer market over the summer............

Agree completly Weasel - guy is a 'name' and that is keeping him in place - his record in the CL is awful and when you compare the players at his disposal to those at Man U then that team on paper should be well clear. For me there aren't many individuals in the Man U team that would get into the Man City team - but as a collective they seem to play a lot better

Agreed, apart from Van Persie and MAYBE Evra... actually probably not. Altho City need a winger like nobody's business so Valencia could get in.
One worrying sign is when it's 0-0 at bottom of the league QPR and you take of Tevez and bring on Jack Rodwell. ??? Jack ****ing Rodwell. Jeez.

EVRA!? Seriously? He's been OKAY this season, but the last 2-3 years he's been SHITE!

I bet Rodwell and Sinclair are glad they joined City! Their bank accounts may be massive but their careers are ruined. They'll never get regular first team footy, and if/when they decide to leave/are flogged they will struggle to get back to where they were when City signed them. Look at Shaun Shite phillips, Stephen Ireland and Andy Johnson.

Ohh and Mancini is only "a name" because of his playing career. As a manager he's really done nothing. He's won a few Serie A titles, but that was when Juve, AC, Fiorentina and Lazio were all relegated or deducted points. My gran could have won those league titles. He's been an even lucky manager than Mourinho (Paul scholes' wrongly disallowed goal at OT, cost Utd, Porto go on to win CL, Mourinho walks into Chelsea job with blank cheque book and the rest is history)

Where do Sky get their commentators from? Paul Walsh goes 4th is a battle between Liverpool and Spuds. Hmm, who did he play for again?

If I ever see Gary Neville I'll tell him that as a footballer I thought he was a complete bell end but as a commentator he's class.

Pool should be more than 1 up. I've seen them in games like this far too often.
Arsenal to win 2-1

Thank **** for that. I just can't figure how he gets in the team. I actually don't think you have worse than him. I think he hides enough and isn't caught up in big "events" that lead to goals being conceded to perhaps get less of the blame but i actually don't even see him as Premier league quality. So poor. Been typically awful today.
