Rafa is in a lot of trouble now - and that pisses over my correct score - I had Chelsea 2-1 so was well happy with the first Chelsea goal - I go from 1 point to 3 and then back to 0 :(

I had Chels 2-1 as well. 95th minute buster. Ouch. :(

Totally sums Pool's season up. Dominate the game for large parts (60+ mins last night) and yet conspire not to win it.
It was a strange game, I suspect a draw was probably a fair result, but given the amount of possession Pool had in the first half and the number of decent half chances they created I almost feel it's 2 pts dropped. Either way that result does neither side any favours.

As for Chelsea, Rafa was never getting that job full time before tonight. He's doing a good job of making sure he never gets a decent job again. Bizarre. Absolutely bizarre.

Just got my tix for Luton v Millwall,so im hoping past history wont repeat itself :D

Gotta agree with you guys about Rafa though, the guy is a waste of space but there is only one person to blame, and he is destroying Chelsea.Rumour has it he wants them to win the World Cup next :D

Rodgers should be given time and i think he is the next Fergie. There is just something about him and the way he puts himself accross.

Got to disagree with the Ramsey comments. The guy had a serious leg break whilst just breaking into the team, and that will still play on his mind when playing now.Eduardo,Valencia,Laarson were never the same players after similar breaks. It is human nature to worry about it happening again, and i beleive most Gunners fans pick on players like him to satisfy there anger.Wenger has lost it,simple really.I dont beleive t he fans are on his side anymore.

Seems like you're not really disagreeing with the Ramsey points of view tho. Just explaining why he's ****. Which is kind of understood. Yes, there's a good chance that the reason he's **** is because he broke his leg 3 years ago. Or maybe not. Who cares. Should he play in the Premier League week in week out without performing well. No. Of course not.
There are probably complex psychological reasons why Torres is **** too but the fact remains that he is **** and the reasons don't matter.

Agreed Pete.

Steven Gerrard is the best English player and best midfielder to ever play in the PL, and in the top 10 of all players of all time in the PL.

I don't think Ramsey's shite. He may be going through a bad patch, but he's not ****. And he may not be in form, but how the hell is Torres shite? He just needs to play in a stable team! I'd have him at the Emirates any day.

How come Mata and Lampard don't need to play in a stable team? Just Torres. He needs stability. he needs a partner, he needs an arm round his shoulder, he needs a lucky goal... Seems like he needs way to many favours to be able to play well for a "good" player in my opinion.

Lampard has always played well. 3 or 4 years ago, Torres was reguarded as one of the best players in the world. He can't be shite. Anyway, that Chelsea side is full of wonderful players who, at the moment need an arm around them.
Maybe I'm on my own, but I think he's a scapegoat at the moment.

Torres was amazing when alonso was pinging balls forward for him to run onto. Alonso left and Torres has lost his pace and now confidence. Would love to see him at Arsenal for the chance he could rediscover his form

I was amazed when I saw that Torres had over 100 caps for Spain and is only 28 - I get the feeling that he has gone the same way as Owen - i.e. lost some of the hunger that he had when he was younger. When you have been at the top of your game for such a long period, and been paid millions of pounds in the process then I guess it can be hard to get motivated for each game

I often wonder if the same thing will happen to Rooney.

Torres is a strange one.
Before Liverpool signed him a lot of Europe's big clubs had looked at him and decided to pass. The £17 million Liverpool paid for him was quite a gamble. He was a quality player, but he'd never really been hugely prolific and I think a lot of clubs felt he was lacking that certain something to enable him to step up to the mantle.

Pool took the gamble and Rafa built a team round him. All day long Alonso and Gerrard would feed him the sort of balls he thrives on. His confidence sky-rocketted and suddenly everything he touched flew into the net. Then Alonso left (pissing him off is still the biggest mistake Rafa ever made) and Torres' form dipped slightly. Not in the sense of couldn't hit a barn door, but more in the sense of he wasn't quite a leathal as he had been. Form like he showed in that first 18 months at Pool is rarely permanent....unless your name is Messi!
As his form dipped and Rafa lost the plot, Pool's results started to drop off and the pressure increased. Creating a perfect storm. As he didn't score the pressure on him and Rafa increased, Rafa got more and more daft ideas and the saga with the owners started to erupt the media sensing blood built it up. Cue a more distracted Rafa spending less time on the team and more time bitching to the detriment of the club and results. Ergo the pressure was ratchetted up even more. Catch 22.
His sale suited Liverpool, lets be honest the way he was playing at the time he didnt look a £50 million poiund striker. But I really don't think it suited Torres. He wanted out and jumped at the first chance that came along. Chelsea don't, and never have, played a style of football that suits his game. They favoured the more direct approach of hoofing it to Drogba and letting him batter teams into submission. And, with a beast like him up front, why wouldn't you.

I think Torres' problem now is his confidence is destroyed. He's still a great player, he just needs a team to play to his strengths and a manager who actually wants him. I've no idea how many Chselsea managers he's played under, but we all know none of them decide who the club buys!

England are playing canny. Not impressed with brazil at all. Considering brazil have no competitive games before the world cup i'd have thought they'd be up for this

Only half watching it, but that was a bloody harsh penalty, and cleverly was lucky not to give another one away with that tackle when he was trying to clear the rebound.

Great dig by fat frank mind.

Celebrated his goal a bit much for me - it is a friendly. Walcott has raped adriano but is still missing the end product. Cahill (who I rated before he got lost at chelski) has looked rocky.
