Premier League 2012/13 Discussion Thread

No they've not looked that good this season. Tho team's early season form rarely says much about how they'll finish up.
Yeah, just seen they've scored. Phew, that's a start at least.

The Chelsea Scum game tomorrow? The two most reprehensible clubs in the league? Can't both of them lose?! Think the scum will win as even though Chelsea are undefeated this season I think they've flattered to deceive, plus they're due a win there.

Merseyside derby, I think the bitters will edge this - it really depends on how Rodgers sets up his team to go out as there could be be quite a lot of derby debutants out there for Liverpool. Besides Gollum as briefed the press/ref so Suarez will getnothing (again).

Spurs I think will win as will Newcastle.

This is a HUGE season defying week for us A derfeat to Chelsea today in the Carling Cup or whatever its called now and again on Saturday to Aresenal we will find oyur selves 10 points behind in the league and already out a cup comp on the other hand we win all three and chelsea we will be all over the place lost 3 on the bounce out of a cup struggling to qualify in the Champions League so a HUGE Week COYR!

What so diving in front of Moyes like that is clever? Bias to Man United or not thats not the way he should be conducting himself we all know he dives mate.

No. Clown. He doesn't ****ing dive (all the time). He's done it about TWICE in his whole time at Liverpool, yet when some pissed up **** who the media are **** scared of then everbody jumps on his back (just like the Norwich player who did that recentl and then tried to get Suarez booked for a dive).

The whole UK media is against Suarez, Saturday's football Focus and back pages of the tabloids confirmed that.

If you are *from* Derby then why don't you suport Derby County instead of Manchester United?

I didnt say he dives all the time but you cant deny that he does dive. Yes I also agree that the British Media is a little hard on him but he doesnt help himself.

As for living in Derbyshire and Supporting United. Well I do take an keen interest in the fortunes of my Local sides. Having visiting Forest my prefferred club over 30 times duue to not being able to afford a United Ticket I have been to OT Twice and to the Wembley FA Cup Simi against City Last Year. I also have visited local teams in Heanor Ilkeston and Eastwood who will bve going out of business very soon unless get find a new buyer which will be really sad :( so nope I am not a "glory hunter armchair supporter like other United Fans.

Now about todays game
Were do I start? I will start by admiting we used a huge chunk of our luck? an og playing against 9 men and having a clear offside goal allowed.

Invanovic deserved his red Last although contact was miminal as for Torres - HARSH so he dived but worth a red so soon after sending a seperate player off I think not

Its not been the best day either if your a linesman dissallowing a perfect Suarez goal and allowing a Dubious Hernandez one!

Cant wait for Wednesday Night although fearing a backlash as its the perfect chance for a Chelsea revenge mission :?

Slider, with all due respect, Suarez is a low-life, cheating, diving, racist, despicable human being. And i use the term 'human being' quite loosely. I've only ever heard a Liverpool defend him (as no one else possibly could) and i think it's where the blind loyalty thing goes to far. It's the same with many Chelsea fans i know (being from london) who still defend Terry despite what a completely deplorable person he is on every conceivable level. It seems if 'he plays for us' then we'll stand by him. NO MATTER WHAT he does. as shocked as i always am when a seemingly decent and intelligent (ish) person stands up for one of these utter arse-holes i think of it like trying to convince someone that their child is an idiot. No matter how true that may be they'll never admit to it no matter how damning the evidence.
Altho i can't claim to know exactly what it's like to have one of the cretins in employ at the club i love, i still like to think that if he were one of the players in said team i'd still have the strength of character to say "no... actually this guy is an utter bastard and i will not support his behaviour/actions/opinions despite him wearing my teams shirt"

As a Liverpool fan I can freely admit Suarez is a ****. If he didn't play for Liverpool I would hate him with a passion. Even now I don't feel the same pride/joy when I see him play/score for Liverpool as I do with any and every other player we have. You can call it his 'desire to win' or 'his competitive spirit' (I'm leaving the racist bit to the side, that's a 'no contest') but he goes to ground very easily and he pushes the laws of the game.

Saying that I don't see anything wrong with his celebration on Sat. Moyes basically called him a diving bastard (quite justifiably) and that was Suarez retort. Maybe not the smartest thing he's ever done but if you're going to go on record as calling someone something like that don't be surprised if they retort. And on that note I'm probably the one Liverpool who supported Gary Neville when he did his wee celebration against Pool a few years ago, and when he announced he hated scousers. I didn't support him cos I like him, far from it, I just think given most players have to take dogs abuse from opposition fans, the fans have no right to be offended when a players celebrates or says eh doesn't like them. FFS they sing worse about him every week.

As for the two games I thought that summed Liverpool's luck this season up. Perfectly good winner disallowed in injury time. No way would Everton have come back from that. Goes with the "penalty" Utd got at Anfield and the pts we bucked away against City (I think) when Skertl had one. Still, a draw was probably a fair result in what was, like most Derby's, a pretty pish game.

As for Chelsea Utd. Where were Chelsea for the first 25 mins? They had all the possession going forward but created nothing. Every time Utd attacked they looked like scoring. I actually thought Ivanovic's red was unfortunate. Yes, it's a foul and as last man he has to go, but it didn't look intentional and whilst by the letter of the law it was a correct decision, "the law is an ass".
As for Torres, now that was harsh! There was contact between him and Evans, not a lot mind, but there was definite contact, given he had already been booked Clattenburg could quite easily just have given Utd the free. Unless he was 100% sure Torres dived, which he clearly wasn't as the replays showed there was contact. Saying that Clattenburg is a serial game ruiner, he is a terrible ref and the sooner he gets retired the better. He ruined what was shaping up to be a great game!

Oh and Hernandez was off side for the winner, just to rub Chelsea's nose in it!

Incredible. Bit harsh on Reading when the ref allowed 5 and half minutes of injury time to be played when it was supposed to be 4. There were no stoppages in that time so no idea where it came from. that's a hell of a lot of time to add on so you need a good reason. Genuinely can't see where he got it from.

The most amazing thing, wasn't Arse coming back from 4 down, or the extra injury time, but that Chamakh scored.................TWICE!
