Ok, tho it may seem like it, this isn't just to annoy Josh. That's just a bonus.
After much deliberation i've have decided to run a Euro 2012 Predictions league.
I have been running a predictions league since 2006 (6 full seasons + 1 World Cup) and it's been very successful.
In 2010 i tried a World Cup predictions league which much more people took part in and it included a "side-aciton mini game" for all the gamblers among us, where you chose a cup winner, runner up, star player and all sorts of other things. I'm really not sure i can be bothered to do the side action league this year so i'm just gonna keep it simple.
Having said that, i am toying with the idea of having people chose a tournament winner and a star player for bonus points. If people think that is a good idea holla.

This season just gone both Weasel and Iain played my predictions league so they'll be able to tell you if it's any good or not. ;)

How to play

It's simply a case of entering the scores for each game and scoring points for correct picks.
I send out emails at each "stage" with all the fixtures for said stage. You fill it in with your guesses and return it. Simple as that.

You will get 1 point for a correct pick (you pick 1-1 and the game ends in a draw)
You get 3 points for an exact guess (you pick 2-1 and it ends 2-1 *extra time does not count at any stage)
and you double your score with a Wild Card pick. You get 12 wild cards to use at any time during the tournament.

Example:
[your first email will look like this]

Stage 1: June 8-11
Poland - Greece
Russia - Czech Rep
Netherlands - Denmark
Germany - Portugal
Spain - Italy
Ireland - Croatia
France - England
Ukraine - Sweden

You fill it in and return it like this:
Stage 1: June 8-11
Poland 1-0 Greece
Russia 2-2 Czech Rep
Netherlands 1-0 Denmark
Germany 2-1 Portugal
Spain 1-1 Italy
Ireland 3-3 Croatia
France 1-1 England
Ukraine 0-0 Sweden

etc

It costs £20 to play and last time we had close to 25 runners so the prizes can be huge!

If you want to play hit me up here. Anyone can play so if you have friends who would be interested just get them to email me and they are in!
Money must be paid before the end of the first "stage" or you will be removed from the league.

As Pete mentioned, I played last season and was very impressed - if you want to add a bit of interest to each game then this is a good laugh

Just a hint to everyone, it does help if you remember to submit your guesses everytime!
I know one idiot forgot to send his in for the last week of the PL season!

Yes, that's good advice.
And this is a very short tournament. Only about 30 games in total so missing one email would almost definitely cost you the chance of winning.

Steve smashed it. Star-man B Lewandowski scored and he hit a WC exact for 6 points. Did you get a point for the Russia game Steve? (can't check right now)

I had 2-1 Poland so was pissed off they didn't win. Really looked like they were going to till the 2nd half.

Lee, you have Lewandowski as your Star-man B sub. Subs do not score points they are there to be swapped with your star-man if you so chose until the knock-out stages when subs are removed. You have Jelovic as your Star-man B who is yet to pplay so still points possible.

I would assume Steve is top of the league but i'm at work at the moment so can't confirm for sure.

There will be regular (sometimes live) updates on the facebook page. Sign up if you haven't already.

Ok Pete, I see mate. And I thought I was off to a flyer. Well done anyone who predicted the Russia win. I never saw that one coming!
