Non League Football Chat

Yep I know mate and we arent even in Feb yet!

Yourselfs and Braintree are falling behind now. I hope your Trophy campaign doesnt damage your promotion charge.

Well we made a welcome return to action today picking a vital win at Welling which prompted a Welling fan to say on their forum -
really enjoyed Alfretons play they were a class above us if im being honest

:D

Now a chance next time out to improve our GD against Hyde :)

Yet another good win for you. Brad was praising your supporters aswell on fackbook this morning so things are going great guns for you lot!
There is no doubt in my mind that we will be in the play offs. Its a joke at the moment tho. We havent won a game for 2 months and we are still in the play off places lol. I expect us to win at Cambridge on Tuesday night that's how confident i am, especially if some of the signings that are rumoured come to the club before then. Looking forward to seeing the prolific Alan Connell back on the hallowed turf of BP once again :)

Hey Chiffy! Been game tonight for u lot at Cambridge!

You mean Alan Connell from Northampton Town? Great signing

We have signed Shaun Harrad too ex Burton Albion, Cheltenham and Bury striker. Hes Quality! :D

No matey its Alan Connell from Bradford City. He signed for us the 1st season we were in this league and bagged 29 goals which earnt him a move to Bradford but he is currently out of favour. We are just pending on shipping out Dayle Southwell and Andi Thanoj on loan so we can donate to his wages but in the meantime we have signed French striker Oumare Tounkara from Stevenage.
Now lets see if we can catch you up a bit tonight :p

Great win for your boys tonight!

Just looking at upcoming fixtures. We play 4 times from now until the 15th Feb and you only twice. So we wold have played 34 while you only 28!

Rumour is Nickys been considered by Oxford to replace Chris Wilder

Been expecting interest from league clubs but hoping Nickys stays with us to at least the end of this season!

Did you know Nicky Law was our manager when our relegation slump started all those years ago? He is not very popular here. If you ever get the chance, in John Mcdermott's autobigraphy ( he was a player at the time ), it tells us all about what happened that fateful day at Tranmere. We had 6000 supporters there and were 1-0 up. All we had to do was better Chesterfields result. Nicky went all defensive and they even had a man sent off but still came back to win 2-1. Chesterfield scored 1-0 i injury time in their game and we were down. I'm not ashamed to admit i shed tears that day and it was all down to Lws' naivity as we were coasting at halftime. Anyways, onwards and upwards ;)

I saw on Wikipedia mate. Its fair to say he doesnt have a good Football League record.

But you cant deny he has done a fantastic job of getting Alfreton to 3rd in the Conference Premier :)

I can deny it no you are correct but i also think its a little unfair on the rest of the teams when you have played more games than most. Harsh maybe but lets see where you are come the end of May. Hope ya do it tho then we can have a good day out in the final eh?

Not sure I agree with that right now Earlier in the season yes but. We have only played loads more than yourselfs. Teams like Barnet and Gateshead are the same and Halifax even one more. Kidddy could fall away with a draw tommorrow at Gateshead and a defeat in the TV Game with Cambridge mate

Gateshead are never going to end in the playoffs. Top 10 was going to be a major achievement. But bloody hell I didn't see that coming!

You could say the same about Alfreton mate!

Big big win for you today!

On Tuesday Grimsby are gonna have 7 games in hand on Halifax!

I would absolutely love that! :D

But there is no way we will survive in the FL!

Hang on just 1 cotton picking minute!!!He started out with Grimsby in the Championship and was with us for 6 years including a couple of hattricks and a double Wembley win AND also played more times for us than Forest and only just more games at Chesterfield so forget those tinpot clubs please
Seriously he is a great penalty winner, wriggling, jiggling and turning in the box, bit of a Luis Suarez type where the ball sticks to him even tho you dont know how. Cant really understand how he comes out of retirement and at 38 will he be any more of a sub as and when you need him or is he expecting more?

I was only jesting me old china. Yeah we gave him his big break and we then sold him to Forest for £300,000! This is why he was so good obvs

Here's super Jack playing for us..........

......and just to throw another 1.5 million into the mix, Ryan Bennett who is currently in Norwichs back four, who we sold to Peterboro and then luckyly had an sell on clause cos we knew how good he was
