Non League Football Chat

Went to the impact yesterday to watch alfreton against Dartford.

TBH that was the worst I have seen us play all season!

Dartford bossed midfield particulary in the 1st half and didn't look like a team who were second bottom! There we really dangerous and we cleared of the line twice and didn't muster anything else other than too quality crosses from Dan Bradley for Clayts two gaols. 4th place in the league on Christmas day JESUS

Were on your toes Chiffy . Interesting games in hand you have tho :)

Richard - Luton look the best in the league IMO

You did well to fight back to 4-2 :)

Bring on Wrexham!

Being a Luton ST holder i thought id better post today,as i havent posted in a long time.We look awesome at the moment, but we have to keep it going.Gateshead had a very poor game yesterday, and their defence was a shambles and cost them big time-although Andre,s goal was one of the best ive seen in a long time.It was sublime to say the least. The heed performed better in the 2nd half, and John Oster scored a nice little goal.

The way we are playing,we are looking very, very good but as i said we have to keep it up.Cambridge have 5 away games in a row soon,so it, ll tell a story at the end of January.

2 of my honest opinions here. The 1st is that i genuinly think the title will go down to us and Luton to fight for. The 2nd is i think Luton will win it. I don't really know why. Yeah sure theyre on a great run but so are we. I just think it's Lutons year after so long. Ours may come in the play offs this season . If not, next season we go again. We both keep winning with the odd draw thrown in every now and again. Difference is were still in the FA Cup so its down to a matter of opinion if that makes a hindrence to your league form as playing catchup with games in hand is never a good thing in my opinion. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top Grimsby VS Luton in March but theres a hell of a lot of games to play before then.

FORM GUIDE since last defeat:

GRIMSBY unbeaten in 13 games ( 10 wins and 3 draws )

LUTON unbeaten in 9 games ( 7 wins and 2 draws )

Nevermind xmas i'm looking forward to the derby away at the Gimps and smashing them as per usual :D

PS Alfreton are exceding themselves this season but i'm not worried at all. I think finished top 3 is how it is at the moment altho not in that particular order BUT we were top at xmas last season and we still bottled it so good luck in the scrap for the remaining play off places guys n gals!

Well im glad we beat Barnet, but gutted for Jon Smith. One of our best performers this season ,and the tackle that broke his leg (tibia and fibia) is one of the worst ive seen.

Proud of my team-but its a sombre day.

Well defeat for us yesterday. We rested a couple of players and had a couple of injuries so left Scotty Nielsen and Linnel John Lewis on the bench and brought in old head Doig at the back for Clayton Mcdonald and it back fired. Still in 2 cup comps in gonna mess us up but hopefully thats our '1 loss' for this month out the way. I said before Luton would win it and Cambridge would bottle it. We will finish top 3 just depends if we can do Wrexham in the play offs as they are the only team i am worried about. Easy 3 points NYD Lincoln at home. My Sunday league side could beat the sad gimps ho ho ho

4th straight league win for us! :D :D :D Now above GTFC allbeit not for long i should expect.

The main topic surronding the club along with the rumoured takeover is are we fit for promotion if it was to happen.

Interesting vid here on what the ground could look like

However it is 3 year old.

BTW good to see Tim posting here :)

You need to do a bit of form studying matey. Last 2 games its no coincidence weve had 4 players missing from the last few months and its taking its toll. Our squad is waferthin and if just 1 player is out it seems to make a slight difference. To add to that, Liam Hearn wont play for us again as he is out long term then out of contract. At the end of the day if we win 5 more games or lose 5 more games we will always be in the play offs ( meaning that we wont win the league ) so were happy jusy getting by at the moment. Also, take into account, it's fa cup 3rd round next and that means money money money!!!

Fair point chiffy but no squad is as waferthin as ours and look where we are are and on a 5 match winning streak. The game on Saturday at the Hive against Barnet is MASSIVE! :D COYR!

When i say waferthin mate i mean that the players we have to come in as replacements are nowhere near the standard of our regular starting 11. We have another player for every position but when they are in the team we look half the team we usually are. Clayton Mcdonald and Shaun Pearson are our regular centreback pairing. At Lincoln, Shaun bruised his ribs so had to go off after 20 minutes and Clayton never even started due to illness. Sam Hatton is our rightback and hes been injured and out of the team the last 2 games. Also, Scott Kerr our set piece specialist, set both our goals at Lincoln up with free kicks. He has missed the last 2 games thru injury. Thats what i meant. Not the quality to come in and do a job in important positions.

Well the boys did themselves proud today. Still without our strongest 11 i hope some of you get the chance to see the highlights on itv tonight. It was actually streamed live on the internet but bit late now eh. Hudders looked a fantastic side and quality oozed thru their team. Best team ive seen for a few years with just 1 touch ping ping passing a delight to watch. We play pretty much the same altho ours is in slow motion! Anyhows, out of that cup now but onto next weekend and the fa trophy. The league table makes me laugh, not having played a league game for 3 weeks after next week and were still in the middle of the play offs and will have 5 games in hand over some of you boys. No doubts in my mind that we can lose as many as we win and the rest will run out of games

Yeah he did altho he could do even less about the Lincoln goal, went up for a header and he bulleted it in the top corner but if he had missed it then the fella he went up with wouldve scored it instead.

Lincoln???BLOODY LINCOLN???? I ask ya! What the hell is Bradders playing centre mid for? Why is Nicky Fenton even in the team? I'll let you off with Kemps but cmon wtf is going on? Come Saturday night we will have 6 games in hand on you m8!

I know mate To be fair to the lads that was their 7th game in 20 days so they understandbly ran out of puff!

TBH if you offered a top 10 place right now I would snap your hand off!

Although 4 of our Next 5 are very winnable indeed
