Just thought i'd make this section as we have members who support Luton, Gateshead and Alfreton as well as my shower, the mighty mariners and maybe some others wanna come out of the woodwork in embarressment and admit their love for their local team instead of the Prem armchair supporters.
So i'll start. Is anyone gonna beat us before we lift the Championship? Looking at our stats are pretty good. Unbeaten in 12 games, best goal difference, least goals conceded, taken 15 out of 21 points off the next 6 placed teams in this league and not lost to any of them, lost once away in 11 months. Who wouldn't be confident to say with 16 games left we are heading back to the football league
Oh and toboot we are in the semi finals of the Mickey Mouse FA Trophy.
OK WE ARE PRETTY INDESTRUCTABLE
I know how quickly things can change though but i expect there's only Wrexham that are going to be upto the challenge. Mansfield are destroying everyone they play at the moment but have only faced pub teams. When they play the likes of the play off contenders they will come undone. That, aswell as others, have games in hand which could change the league standings but that means winning all of those games AND Grimsby losing them. The way we are going at the moment it's hard enough to score against us let alone beat us so doing that 3 times shouldn't happen if we are to maintain top spot. Luton will win the play offs in my opinion. Over 1 final which they've lost over the last couple of seasons they will this time have the fire power to go all guns blazing beating Wrexham again.
I also think it's about time we had this tinpot league changed to the next tier of the football league as there are better supported clubs with better resources down here. Some of the crowds in this league have been bigger than games as high as the Championship crowds on certain games. Lutons home crowds are awesome for this league altho they seem to get let down by performance but keep coming back for more. Away from home they have the best following aswell, followed by ourselves. AT LEAST GIVE US ANOTHER PROMOTION PLACE!!!
I must also comment on the good side of being non league aswell. Cheap admission (especially for the kids), cheap food n drink, good banter amongst both sets of supporters bar a few, non seggregation at certain grounds, even smoking allowed inside the stadiums! Oh and the most important thing....STANDING!!!
Anyone got any opinions?
