When they were produced there were 50 of each of the revenge proofs... Some were probably ruined or destroyed, some dumped in the bin or dumpsters and salvaged, but from what I know quite a few sets were taken home by Kenner employees.

Over the years the sets were either sold as a set or broken up and have gone into collections. The rarity is relative to what has survived and popularity. The lesser characters change hands all the time due to cost and popularity but the more popular go into black hole collections or character focus so are harder to attain and cost considerably more.

My proofs have only come from two sources and they have both dried up now. So the hard work starts here for me. Trying to unlock the more popular ones is gonna be hard work.

Hope this helps.

Bram

Wow Bram some more beauties there 8) but now its time to hunt down the Kenner employees archives and start cross referencing them with the local phone books, or just do some extensive searching on the web.

Another lovely looking die cast f4k 8)

and a cracking moc there jeff, I do love the picture on that card :)

f4k - never took much notice of the die-casts before, but they are really nice.

Jeff, love the X-Wing MOC, one of my favourite cardbacks and on my must-have list. 8)

Lovely cb's slider 8) I'm after a few of those myself, particularly like that r2 8)

So I roll in from work tonight to be greeted with my girlfriend telling me her mom had been over and dropped off a couple of Star Wars figures she bought at the car boot sale last Sunday because she knows "I like that sort of thing".

Oh joy I think, expecting her to present me with a monkey faced Leia and a sunburnt stormtrooper....

Instead she pulled out these :-o

After I picked my chin up off the floor I started to ask a lot of questions s you can imagine, apparently they had "loads" including a "four legged walky thing in an Empire Strikes Back box, but they wanted £30 for that!"

Must start having Sundays off!!!

Cant wait to find out what she paid either :-)

Haha!

You'd have to think no more than a tenner and that would be so amazing :D would love to know too.

There's a thread for this kind of booty find, forget what it's called now.

2 minutes later and I've found it, why not revive the thread with your good fortune :)

June, basically in the summer people rock up to a field in their car full of random gear from around there house to sell, usually on Sundays. I think you have swapmeets which are a bit similar?

Adam

Blanton ...lucky boy

Jesus .....walky thing in box :D awesome stuff....it's still out there

June. A car boot sale is a Sunday market usually in a field or parking lot where people sell their stuff they want to get rid of out of the car boot (trunk)

I picked up some loosies for 50 p each the other month at a car boot, they were beaters, but one was quite nice, incomplete yoda

So you can still pick up bargains

But if your M I L has your back, well you can't go wrong :D

Banton - wow that's a great find, really pleased for you. And in such great condition! It's such a buzz finding stuff like that because 9 times out of 10 at these pace you come away empty handed...

June, maybe its Garage Sales for you guys? I know it is here in NZ. I've never found anything more vintage than 1997 though
