Historic find to be disclosed on 12 back Facebook group tomorrow

Never saw what all the fuss was about Boba Fett. Yeah lots of weapons, cool ship, jet pack......

But ultimately dies a crap death when a blind man accidentally knocks him of the skiff into Sarlac with a small metal bar.

Completely agree, I'm not one of his fanboys either.

I still have fond memories of getting him from my mum for last day at school. Is a dream to get a ESB palitoy boba but think that will never happen

I blame your mam, she could of waited a few years and got you a Klatuu on a jedi card.
Yer ESB Palitoy Fetts are a wet dream but there's still plenty more lofts to be searched so who knows!

Cool story. Not really into the value of the thing but the find is a good one. Super super rare :)

Oh, and i agree about Facebook. Absolute bullshit doing the ' unveiling' on there and what a bunch of posers. Seems like 99% of the bellends on there are rich, spoilt kids with too much time and money. I dont think its the thrill of the hunt anymore, its more the 'look at me,look what i found with all my research' bullshit.

Please bring back the old days...
This is why I have been taking a break lately.

There's no proof he died in the Sarlacc pit. 2 half digested red tampon shape plastic things were found in his poo but no Fett himself...

Great find.

If he comes back it will be another Bobby Ewing moment. Oh please! lol

Great stuff.
Personally, like the vinyl-caped Jawa or a DT Luke, it has no bearing on my own interests in collecting, even if I did have the funds.
I'm more into stuff that bring me that touch of nostaligia from my own memories, yet I can't remember the rocket-firing Fett ads clearly.
I do, however, appreciate the history within the company and other collectors obsession.
I also find it interesting to read stuff like this and realise that there may be a whole lot of stuff out there undiscovered...or maybe not.

im always a sceptic, and these hand me down from former kenner employee's dont sit well with me, its like "engineering plots" basically a production figure with a bit of black pen on, from a reputable former employee and worth $2000.

Not saying this isnt genuine, and isnt a proper mailer that was supposed to be togther, but can easily be mashed together for the sake if and bam, triple the value because he says so lol

This was a massive find and it's a shame that the whole Forums v FB is distracting some from the significance of the discovery.

I'm not so big into high-end pieces myself but as a lover of the hobby I can appreciate how rare this is and how it helps fill in some gaps in the chronology.

You're damned if you do, and damned if you don't. I posted here both to let people know it was going to be posted in the 12 back group because I really enjoy this forum and wanted you guys to know, and also figuring that this would eventually turn into a thread for people here to discuss it if they didn't care to do so on the FB group (which it has become here).

But to hear the tired old "everyone on a Facebook group is a rich asshole that doesn't do any research" is ignorant, over generalized, and has nothing to do with Darrell and Brendi's very cool find. Why people can't just discuss the piece and feel that they always have to take digs at another group of people (especially when most the "FB people" are actually members of this forum, members of RS, etc.) is just sad really. Funny but when I post links to RS, SW Forum, the SWCA, etc. over on FB, no one ever says anything negative (and trust me, there are things they could pick at).

Maybe I am just a perennially positive person, but I love RS. I love SW Forum. I love the Facebook groups. I love the hobby. I love it all. I feel bad for those that are so negative about stuff. Life is more fun being positive!

Unfortunately it's all tit for tat Ross. The last few days of Facebook negativity on here spawned from a Facebook guy saying everyone on this forum has an inferiority complex. So it's simply not true to say that the pro-Facebook crew are saints and we're all miserable twats. Like you I enjoy Facebook, I'm on there just as much as I am on here, but when somebody says something derogatory about this forum either on here like on this occasion or on Facebook which has also happened a couple of times, I'm going to stick up for this place. I appreciate the efforts of other long standing members doing the same too.

I'll happily promote a cease-fire, as you say life is too short, but it takes two to tango.

Sorry to hear that happened, Edd. That stinks that someone would say that about this fine forum. I just guess I don't understand quibbling about the different forums. Seems to me to be a big waste of time, and unnecessary negativity. Like I said, I like them all (well maybe except for TIG....just kidding!).

Not sure a cease fire is practical as there are always going to be negative people that feel it necessary to take digs at others, whether that's because of jealousy, misunderstanding, or just general hatred that some people unfortunately have in their hearts.

My advice to the haters - life is short. Fill your heart with love and understanding instead of hate.

Did I just sound like a ****ing hippie or what??????? :D

Then... Fiiiiiiggghttttt!

Seriously, though, FB/Forum/whatever comes next. It's all just guys talking shite about toys.

Life is short etc.

Move along.

:)

Very interesting find & it makes sense to me that they would put 2 rockets in with Boba - Kenner really did care!

When I first read that a historic 12 back find was about to be revealed to the world, I first imagined a warehouse closed in 1978, stuffed to the rafters of sealed cases of 12 backs. One more J slot BF, even with 2 missiles, a tad bit of a let down after the hype.

According to the SWCA article, there was one mention of it coming with 2 rockets:

http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=81825

So either this is provenance, or greatly helped the "former employee" put his scam together :)

Any idea how many of these "only one " rocket firing BF actually exist now?

Plenty. About 30 or 40 L slots and maybe 15 J slots I think.
