Disney acquires Lucasfilm!!!

Totally agree. We've had our movies lets just wait and see. However, if Disney announce Star Wars episode 7 - vampire Ewoks I'd have to say oi Disney no!

If Fox are no longer anything to do with it, does that mean the 20th Century Fox logo and music will no longer be on before the film starts?
I know it's only about 10 seconds long but it won't be the same without it. Apart from that, I'm looking forward to the new films now I've had chance to take it all in.

You will see the Disney Castle opening.

Damn, what a bad day, they have been talking about it in the radio all the day in denmark

I am happy that they finally make episode 7. But I am affraid that disney will destroy it.

I fear the worst, but I hope they surprise me

I have been reading in the newspaper that they will make a movie every 3 year and they will make episode 7, 8 and 9.

I have also heard in the radio that mark hamill will play and old jedi master luke skywalker in episode 7, just like ben kenobi in episode 4. But maybe it is just radio rumors.

To keep or salvage some credibility, they're gonna have to get some of the older actors back in it. Dunno if Harrison Ford would risk it though and last I heard of Carrie Fisher she was a crack head? Or something like that.
Hopefully it's not all made on computers.

I think it could be cool to see the 3 old characters again leia, luke and solo again. But I also hope it's not all made on computers.

I've just thought of a positive. We all thought Episodes 1-3 would be amazing because George Lucas was doing them. how wrong we were. Now we all think they'll be shite because Disney are doing them. What's the worst that can happen?

I still think episode 1-3 is good, but yes episode 4-6 is the best movies.

Maybe we just fear the star wars magic will disappear in the next movies :?

What will happen to the Star Wars comics from Dark Horse ? Will Disney make them ?

No worries Liam. It's a major ****up though and I'm sure Lucas will still be able to make horrible changes to the original trilogy and also block a bluray release of an enhanced theatrical version for years to come.

If Disney do one thing in Episode 7 it must be to kill Jar Jar Binks scene one, act one.
Potential names for the movie mooted include Hannah Mon Mothma & Snow White & The Seven Droids.

So far people seem to think it will be a good thing. Long live Jedi-Mickey

Look at it this way,

None of us own star wars. It's Lucas' so he can do what he wants with it. We don't have to like it (jar jar etc) but at the end of it all, it's nothing to do with us. If it wasn't for Lucas, we wouldn't have the thing in the first place.

The only thing we own are our memories. I love the first 3 and all the hype and fun that existed during their release back in the 70's & 80's. Nothing Lucas has done since then has affected that and nothing ever will. Disney could do an entire trilogy based on the life of Jar Jar and my memories would not be damaged, i'd still watch the OT and I'd still collect. The nostalgia will remain.

So ultimately I'm not so sure I give a **** what he's done now. God knows he's done plenty of things I don't like with it and I feel countless opportunities for further greatness have been wasted. But like I said, it is his to do with what he wants.

Maybe out of his hands things will pick up again. Maybe Disney can reinject some of this greatness. Maybe they will completely screw it over. Personally I'd love to see more star wars as I love that universe and have always believed there is so much more to tell within it.

But either way my memories are the same. And it's those that made me a SW fan and collector, not anything that happened since!
