I've said it before- I'd proudly have these at my house.

Regardless I blame Todd :p

Well I've just caught up with all that's been going on over on RS and it really does seem like this is a subject that just won't go away. The end of the day if I had the money to pick up the Palitoy VCJ and really wanted it in my collection then I'd probably go for it, send it to the AFA and get my money back if it turned out to be fake, it really does seem as simple as that to me. There are other carded Star Wars figures out there worth more than this and no matter who's had them in their collections before someone else gets them surly there's always going to be the slightest chance that they've also been forged (that's if you follow the logic of the Palitoy VCJ been forged). Like I said before it's all going around in circles.

I was surprised to read that my thread came up and Jason more than hit the nail on the head by saying that my figures would never fool anyone. They were never meant to but just look as good as I could repair them with original parts. Even the best ones I've put together would show up for what they are as soon as you put some UV light on them. It really was just a more affordable way for me to own a set that was a big part of my childhood. The only thing I slightly took offence to was being reffered to as a customiser. This is something I feel I've never done as I just repair the damaged card back (with maybe adding some bits and bobs from other original card backs..........oh wait does that make me a customiser?!  ).

Anyway, thanks for your comment James and everyone else out there who passed on on friendly message on the original thread, it means a lot ( maybe no high fiving next time  )

I'm pretty sure it was tfb's thread that was originally being referred to, then yours was quoted as a guess.

cheers Jason

Yes...I am the "Elite "customizer who obviously has fooled the auction house    Even on my best day, my stuff would not fool someone upon close inspection.

I'm not sure how much work Mr Slaters has had of late but if he can't afford it at least he can always get the next best thing from Todd, he has been known to fool the world with his work!

Sorry for the mix up,my mistake  . I could not recognise tiefighterboy's "how do i make neat stuff available for collectors on a budget without the risk of others getting scammed in the future" thread in the description so i thought it must have been your thread that was mentioned.
Seemed like a good idea to post a link so everyone interested could see your work is in no way harmfull or a reason for concern and actually deserves the "highfiving and kudos" that have been thrown.

By the way, kudos on your superb resealed Palitoy colection :D

Thanks for that Dieter, much appreciated! I'll have to get some more pictures up soon of how the collection has progressed, it's made quite a move forward. :)

Not really - only by what has sold on ebay (don't go by buy it now prices - they never sell for half that). Last 3 afa graded kenner MOCs have sold for between £3000 and £3,800. You'll get some goons list them at 8 but they dont sell and they end up pulling them out.

Palitoy VC mocs obviously only had the one - which sold for around £11,500 ish outside of ebay (original winner being a 0 feedback guy).

So depends on what you want, as to what you pay.

Another day another news article.

@ Gary smith I read your post over on RS seemed like a really well written and balanced reply. I am wondering (and I don't mean this arsey but as complete Palitoy newbie, I own zero palitoy figures) what would you class as the holy grains of a palitoy collection if its not the VCJ? I know nothing about this stuff and am just interested.

A full set of 30b's for the first 12 figures MOC would be kinda cool...

:)

Ahh right thanks for that Jason, I totally ****ed up there, I'm guessing the 30 back ESB Palitoys are rarer than the 12 backs?
