Another VC Jawa Palitoy found

I'm also quite surprised that people find it so suspicious that another one has been found just after the only graded one in the world sold recently for a small fortune. I'm thinking that the person who bought it probably noticed how much the ebay one went for and decided that 11K would come in handy. We don't even know when this one was bought (well I don't think we do?), it may well have been sitting in someone's collection for years or even been put away into storage.

Kathy from Vectis has said it was bought at an antiques fair fairly recently quite cheaply with three other 12 back palitoy MOCs.

Thanks for passing that on Jason, at least we know it hasn't been sat in someones collection for that long. Things do turn up from time to time in different places. The Palitoy 12 back Luke I used to own was from a Bristol auction house from a few years ago. I picked it up with 3 other sealed Palitoy 12 backs and I'm pretty sure nobody outside of that auction house knew about it. There are palaces like this all over the country and who knows what becomes available to the open market every now and then. It'll be interesting to see what price this new VCJ finds with all the exposure it's having.

As I said before, I honestly think some of the guys on there badly want this to be a fake and are clearly not bothered by the thoughts of AFA, Jason or Gray who know far more about Palitoy cards than they ever will

It's interesting to read on the RS thread that some people think that this item has been forged. I know the last one went for a lot of money but wouldn't it be easier and worth more money to forge Head man or Blue Stars? It just seems like an odd figure to go to all the trouble with. Also I think it would be next to impossible to somehow make a flawless reseal of it as you would need the card back with the right shaped bubble that had little to no damage or a Palitoy 12 back Jawa card that has never had a bubble attached to it. I say this as the placement of the cloth caped Jawa bubble is always higher than the VC shaped bubble which means there's no real way of marrying up a Kenner VC sealed Jawa to any cloth caped Jawa card back without seeing some sort of damage to it. It does feel like people are just unwilling to except that there's more than one of these (or any), in existence. I think as one has been graded it's too much of a stretch to believe that there are others out there for some reason.

Maybe if the seller came forward it might help to put peoples minds at rest about it but I'm not sure I'd be totally happy about sending this item off to be graded just in case something happened to it.

I bloody took the pictures- was the only one who saw it out of the cabinet and was there with a mate who's been collecting since 1977 who also confirmed its real. I even got Joiner to take it out of the cabinet and was the only guy given the opportunity to photograph it as it was in a 'no photos' area.

I then spoke to Darren about it for 30mins, and don't get a mention.

Made me laugh though, I'm trying to pick up a ROTJ Jawa , budget ...even reseal. If I get that it's like a VCJ to me :lol: :lol:
I went out for a meal in Manchester last night with the family, got bollocked for talking to a homeless guy, gave him a fiver, his response was " thankyou very much I really appreciate that" turned out he was quite a learned articulate bloke, who's wife left him for another bloke, he went to bits, on the booze...guess the rest
