2 12 Backs damaged in post by eBay Global Shipping Program!

Bought 2 ungraded 12 backs from the USA, a Tuskan Raider, and a C-3PO. They arrived in a small box, which straight away I thought they couldn't be packed very well. There was a sticker on the box informing me it had been resealed by the global shipping program. I opened the box to find the figures both damaged. The C-3PO just had a tear by the punch, but the Tuskan Raider bubble was completely removed from the card! Absolutely shocking to see. Of course I will be covered by eBay and Paypal, but the poor seller will have lost a lot of money unless he can get it sorted. Not just that, 2 12 backs have been damaged, and one really badly.

Make of this what you will if you're a seller. How on earth were the figures damaged like this? I suggest if you're a seller that you set your camera up and film yourself packing what you've sold, therefore if damage occurs, you can prove it was packed well.

The GSP sucks. Google 'Pitney Bowes repacking' and read the complaints. The one I heard about the other day the MOC was folded in half and repacked in a smaller box!

That's a disgrace. Nearly 40 years of care, thrown away by some courier. Really sorry to see and hear that.

I think the seller has to take some responsibility here - why were they not put in star cases? Or marked as fragile? Sorry but your average Joe in a courier warehouse doesn't know these are delicate, if they've just been chucked in a huge cardboard box surrounded by packing peanuts I can understand why the courier might think it sensible to repack and save size/weight.

Again - do not expect the whole world to understand these are valuable, to 99% of the population they are just toys. That's why I ask every seller to pack things how I want to receive them, it's no different from receiving a MOC in a jiffy bag.

Yep. Packaging was just some bubble wrap and kitchen towel. The graded figures I just sold were wrapped in bubble wrap, put in a small rigid box, then put in larger box padded with crumpled newspaper. The ungraded carded figures I will be selling soon will be going in plastic tupperware boxes I bought from the poundstore, then put in larger padded boxes.

Does the gsp not have the value of the item on the box anywhere? I'd be surprised if it didn't as it's all linked to customs etc. If so, they should definitely know the value in this case.

It doesn't matter what the value is, people just don't understand they are fragile. I once bought a £100 MOC from a shop and watched the person behind the counter grab it out of the glass cabinet so hard that they put a massive crease in the card. I told them I don't want it any more! honestly people just don't get it - you've all seen the videos of DHL employees hurling Dell and Apple branded boxes around, you think they give a **** about a toy!?

I bought a couple of beater mocs via gsp and i dreaded the gsp bit as they open them and repack them luckily they survivec the ordeal. But i try to avoid gsp items now

I won't use GSP at all - it's just another eBay scam to make more money. I can't see how it benefits the buyer at all - or the seller in cases of damage (as the seller of the 12bks will certainly be out of pocket).

The GSP should not repack anything i my opnion, if they want to go through their system and handle customs fine (if the seller and buyer agrees to that, but repacking stuff they have no clue about and destroying the value of the collectibles is just a waste....

Sorry to see both damaged like that. Go for a full refund and i hope eBay GSP takes the responsibility and loss for this.

another example of shite service of ebay , better buying off collectors on here or rebelscum . the seller should have packed it better , at least a star case .

I would never trust some third party service to pack items I have sold. This is just about as useless as AFA.

GPS is just a big money making scam. As Edd said most of the people working there have no idea of the value of things and are probably paid bonuses for the number of packages they process.
