2 12 Backs damaged in post by eBay Global Shipping Program!

Really sorry....but these could have been absolutely beautiful 12 back MOCs. What happens now? I hope you get your money back.

Yeah the cards weren't in amazing condition. Listed as warped while in storage, but the bubble and figures were brilliant. I was assuming I could straighten the cardbacks out by leaving them wedged between heavy books for several days, then send them off for grading. Reckoned they might get something like C70 B80/85 F80/85. Even with GSP import tax I thought they were a decent price.

The seller has said he'll refund me, but will be contacting eBay first. I already listed the items as "item arrived damaged" just so eBay track all our communication. I'm not concerned about my end as that's what we pay all these outrageous percentages for - to cover things like this.

Really sorry for you chap, it's shocking. Not sure about a case of poor packaging more like poor handling, someone has ripped that bubble off the card in my opinion.

UPDATE

Seller contacted me, said he'd been on the phone to eBay an hour, and what had happened was the sorting office was suspicious of a couple of toys costing several hundred dollars, so opened one to examine. Didn't help that they were packed as if only worth $10. Anyway, both off us will be refunded, and I will get to keep the figures. Should still be worth a decent bit of money.

Jesus wept - what on earth is that all about - that is a terrible admission from the sorting office if that is the case

By 'sorting office' they mean the GSP people and not the postal service I assume? Utterly ridiculous either way but if the GSP open expensive stuff it makes it even more pointless.

Sorry mate to see 2 12 backs that is destroyed in the mail :(

I hope you get your money back.

Also sad to see know there is 2 of those moc less in the world today :(

That is absalutely appauling. What gives these people the right to damage the contents of any package, the value is irrelevant. They should not be opening packaged toys whether they are worth £1 or a £1000 it's their job to insure they are packaged well once they have looked in the parcel.

I think the seller has to take some responsibility here - why were they not put in star cases? Or marked as fragile?

Just to back up what Edd said, if the seller had packed them properly then this may not have happened. Or, at least one would have arrived safely.

Still horrible to see two decent MOC's destroyed like that

I agree the seller should have packaged them better, but I get the impression someone has pulled the bubble off the card to have a look at the figure. Have I misunderstood?

Glad to hear you and the seller will be receiving refunds! And a nice result keeping the figures too.

Yes a good result, I must admit I didn't think eBay would pay up because insurance wise the packaging is not included unless specified. I know this is the case for Royal Mail, they will not pay out for a bubble that splits in transit for example as it is 'only' the packaging.

They coughed up on the split bubble I had. But then they did throw the parcel in front of me.

In the message the eBay person said something like "the handler must have thought it was odd that these toys were priced at several hundred dollars, so opened one to check for illegal substances"

Make of that nonsense what you will.

Two minutes is what it would have taken them to do an online check to see these items are valued over hundreds of pounds! Maybe that's why they let so much illegal substances into the county - Too busy ripping open toys!

That is a complete joke, what were they thinking. Complete idiots doing a simple but important job. I hope you get an apology.

Good result but this is dreadful. There are a couple of carded figures i want off of eBay but they have the GSP on the package and this has put me off totally.

Horrible :x Global shipping crap eBay program but of course then again maybe just maybe if more effort was out into packing them, for instance in a star case, or some more kind of effort in any case the potential of this crap happening would have been less. But what do I know accept for what you posted of 2 MOCs screwed up!

The whole system stinks, it's just money, money, and more money. And now opening figures to check for drugs? If that was really the case then it's ****ing outrageous. I've missed out on many items because I won't buy from sellers who insist on using it, the one time I did I came home from work to find my £300 figure Sat on my front doorstep, in the pouring rain.
Luckily it was ok, but never again.
