When I first started looking for these in 2001/2 there were reportedly 15 Lukes known to exist. And he was considered to be the rarest Palitoy 12 back.
Since then loads have surfaced. Admittedly on a lot of occasions it's the same figure doing the round, but the majority that I know of have come from sources unheard of when the number 15 was quoted, so in other words they were new examples of luke, greatly pushing that number 15 up!
Rare? No.
Expensive? Yes

Old school rarities were boxed IG 88 12", Luke Skywalker AM radio headset, die cast Tie Bomber and blue Snaggletooth.

The second one I heard about was bought at a show in England in the 90's (NEC I think it was) so not Ireland but close enough... Not got much information on the third one but I do trust the person who told me it's out there so it certainly gives hope to more being out there somewhere!

I've got one of these too and the dome is very dull. It's one of the rarest coo variations but I think there are still quite a few loose ones about, just none MOC.
Now I don't know. There are so many items where there are only a few known to exist. Back in the day I thought it was the Blue Snag. Of course it's not particularly rare in reality. Seems like every man and their dog has one now :wink:
