Hi guys, we are now in week 5 of toy of the week.

I did toy of the week to support the forum, so we could have some fun together and help keeping the forum alive. I had hoped many members who share and discuss the toy every week.

But so far we are only a few who have shared our items in the 5 threads.

I have also added a little poll to see what members think about each item.

It is not because not many open the threads. The first thread with imperial gunner have had now more than 1000 views and I can say for sure that it is not me opening the thread a 1000 times 🤣

So why are we only so few sharing our items ? are you all on the beach ? :ROFLMAO:

Maybe you do not have the items I have choosen so far or maybe you do not have time for it or maybe you do not like to share

Please let me know if I do something wrong ? or if I could do something better so you would have fun with the rest of us

I think its a great idea!

I only own 1 item out of the first few threads that you've done and did post in there. The others like the Imp Gunner are on my to buy list at some point. Any of the 12inch figures i dont ever remember as a kid and i've never seen one in real life so maybe have a few more options in the poll?

Perhaps you've chosen some items not many of us have to share?

My collection is mostly loose/carded figures and loose/boxed mini rigs.

hi Lars,

I believe I told you my reason before, currently most of my collection is in storage and finding the time to get them all out and take pictures would be a long process to do.

I do need to sort it all out, when I don't know but its being busy a lot makes it harder to do so.

regards, Joseph

Hi Lars,

I was wondering whether you might ask this question! :) I think it's a very fair question, since you do put a lot of time and effort into the TOTW2 threads. I realise nobody is obligated to contribute, but it would be very nice for everybody if more people did. As you know, I like to contribute and will continue to do so whenever I have something to share, but even I don't collect everything, and hence cannot always contribute to every thread.

I would love the TOTW2 threads to be a popular part of this forum that many members can regularly contribute to and enjoy, however if most weeks it's just you and me that posts pictures of our collections, I would understand it completely if you decided that it wasn't worth your time continuing with it. I really hope that doesn't happen, as this can be a really enjoyable experience for both contributors and readers, and whilst I appreciate that most forum members did not ask for TOTW to come back, if each new thread you post is getting hundreds of views, I'm sure that at least some of those members who are enjoying reading the threads could also share some pictures of their own examples of the toys in question.

So come on guys! Help us out and share some pics please :)

Jeremy

Sorry Lars, I've prob not been paying as much attention to the Forum and threads lately as I usually do. Had a lot going on/ongoing health problems. I have not been on the beach unfortunately 😂 I'll have a look and see if I can contribute anything.

I'm really sorry to hear about your health problems. Obviously that must always come first, and I hope your health improves as much as it can as soon as possible.

As for any photos you can contribute to the TOTW threads, they will be very welcome indeed! :)

Hi Joseph, I understand mate, I had the same problem the last time I did toy of the week, I did not share all my items in every thread because I did not have the time for it, but I will try to do better this time. Threads are also not closed so it is also no problem to share items later (y)

I hope you find time to sort the collection out ;) maybe you should not buy so much :ROFLMAO:

Thanks jeremy for the support, yes I must admit I have been thinking no reason to do it if we are only 2 or 3 sharing every week. But members are opening the threads. Just look at the boba thread I did 24 hours ago, 114 views in 24 hours. I have not seen if any members have shared anything in it yet. But I will look later today.

I just wanted to know what is going on since we have so many views but not many pictures

Thanks mate for the support, I understand healt are more importen than the forum (y) sorry to read you was not on the beach, the babes must be missing you at the beach :ROFLMAO:

I can't wait to see if you have anything to share (y)

Sorry @Pomse2001 I will try and contribute a bit more from now on. Just so busy with life this time of the year. No excuses though I could find the time.
No problem mate life are a good excuse, the forum are not everything. I just wanted to know what was going on with not so many pictures but a lot of views, I did not understand that

hahahahahahahaha, I cant help it 😂

Totally appreciate all the time and effort you are putting in to keep this forum alive, Lars.
I've not posted for a few reasons:
i) I have no 12" or die-cast
ii) my boxed items are almost all packed away in the loft. I've got pictures of most, but as a lot of the pictures are very poor quality (taken around 2000), I'm not keen on posting them
iii) once you've seen one loose figure, I didn't feel the need to post another picture of an identical looking version of the same loose figure.

I'll try my best going forwards to participate though

Hi @Pomse2001

I am just starting to try and contribute more to this forum but do not have time to read every thread, otherwise I'd never get anything done, ha ha.
Alot of my stuff is packed away and only unpacked when I try to sell it, as I am slowly selling most of them off now, due to lack of space and money.
I will be keeping a few favourite items back though.

With regard to your questions:
I for one wish I could go to the beach but very unlikely to happen
I either don't have the items readily accessible or just don't have them
I am sure you are not doing anything wrong.
The only thing I could suggest is if people don't have the time to participate every week (yourself included), and it became Toy of the Month instead?

Thank you for all your input on here though, still not had time to read through much of the Forum :)

Thanks for your support.

Sorry to read you have to sell some parts of your collection.

I think once every month are to few items every year, then we will first be done in 20 years ;)

I agree with it all mate. Except that it is okay to share an identical looking version of the same loose figure that other members have shared. That is what the threads are all about have fun, chat and share your collection and it is okay to share the same items that others also share (y)

very poor quality pictures are also welcome, somethimes we also get pictures from the 1980s on the forum ;)
