Things are looking up at the Villa

Blinder wasn't it!?
And to think Glen Hoddle wasn't going to pick him because he didn't think he was ready.

My mate is a huge Villa fan and lays all the blame on O'Neill. Lerner isn't a football guy and has been badly advised. Villa just need to finish 4th bottom and see if they can offload some junk in the Summer

Not sure how he figures it O'neil's fault. I'd blame Lerner for not spending any money, bar buying Darren Bent.

Shame to see Villa struggling so much though.

Same way that redknapp destroyed pompey and Hughes QPR.

Whisper on the grapevine that Lambert will be gone if they don't win either of their next 2 games. Real shame if true.

I'm pretty shocked the way things have gone in the last few weeks at Villa Park. I couldn't make it, but a mate went to Anfield and said we were amazing.

I like Lambert and I don't want to see him gone at all but he has to realise that he has made mistakes, mainly by playing players out of position. He has to buy some more players - all we need is experience. And get rid of Bent.... he isn't injured, he's just a lazy ****!

Villa have experienced players its just they are injured, Lambert is freezing them out or has loaned them out.

Given, Dunne, Warnock, Ireland, N'zogbia, Bent. A lot of solid experienced PL players there. Ok a few coming to the end of their careers, but given the youth coming through at Villa, they should be able to cover the extra running.

Given - i'd give him a game again; Guzan was doing well but i'm surprised he wasn't replaced after conceding 15 in 3
Dunne - pretty sure he hasn't played this season... last I heard he was back on the beer again
Ireland - the amount of times i've seen Villa and not even realised he's on the pitch
N'Zogbia - awful. Just awful
Bent - lazy. Won't leave the 18 yard box

that benteke is quite a good player!

Yeah he is good and it's even better that he seems to have settled quickly.

Didnt realise Dunne was drinking again. I wold have thought any sensible club would have a clause in his contract forcing him to stay sober.
If you're paying him 20+k a week it's common sense.

As for Ireland and Bent, you may be right. I don't watch Villa much. But, could they not be motivated by the manager? Even if it's with the old ego massage of "save the club, you're our best hope" BS?

 I'm not surprised.

I wouldn't put any money on us beating them at VP - they will have to play with 10 men behind the ball at all times and then when they do break we're screwed as we can't defend

Would hate to see Villa go! :( Its looking more and more bleak!

Villa are one of only 7 clubs to have always been in the premier league but i think that number will be reduced come the end of this season.

I personally think when you run a club like that you deserve what you get. It shows a blatant disrespect to the fans and and a naive disregard for the level you are/were playing at. If they don't wanna be at the top level anymore, **** em, someone else will.

I don't understand the logic of bringing in a manager like Lambert and then trying to play with kids - he has no great track record of bringing players through and to be honest, from what I have seen of the Villa kids, they are a long way away from Prem quality at the moment.

Yeah i think they would be in a relegation battle in the Championship too if they were there right now with this squad.
