There it is, the (potential) end of my GameCube - wish me luck!

Well chuffed with this, a brand spanking new Japanese "Model F" Game Boy Pocket. It even still has the original unused batteries, and the box etc is crisp. Got it from Australia for about the same amount that used ones usually sell for 😊

Thanks, it was really cheap as well, cost me half as much as my regular French copy did from ebay.fr about a decade ago! I guess nobody on eBay UK wanted a French copy, and didn't spot the sticker/manual

I almost certainly overpaid for this, but had to have it when I saw it on eBay. It's an official refurbished Nintendo NES which comes with the original paperwork (sadly missing the controllers and games mentioned on the inventory list, but I could always replace those easily enough.) If you can't read the small text, somebody sent this away for repair in 1996 and Nintendo sent back the console with new cartridge connecter and external shell, and new power supply and RF cable. Also it has a new 'refurb' serial number on the bottom, I have a Game Boy with the same type.

This is incredibly boring but I am chuffed to bits with it :ROFLMAO: back in 2018 I bought a brand new Sega Saturn from eBay, but it was missing the power supply, and they are Sega branded rather than just being generic like most others. I've been looking for one for 5 years, but my eBay saved search finally came up trumps last week, and this unused one cost me just a tenner to complete my console set 😊 I often think about giving up on my saved searches, I've got loads that never turn up anything, but this just goes to show they can pay off with patience!

I know what you mean- I have a saved search for my local rugby club - proper grass roots level, just on the off chance. It's turned up one rugby shirt and one fixture list in something like 8 years, sadly eBay's algorithm change means I now get spammed daily with links to beer mats and pint glasses 🤦‍♂️

Nice find by the way!

Yes I regularly have to amend my saved searches to get rid of things like posters, mugs etc

I've been picking up some Super Famicom games recently, I love the box art on these. I've got the 3 Star Wars games somewhere, will have to dig them out!

This is a bit of a gamble, they've been going for crazy money recently (£500+ in working condition) so I picked up this clean but non-working one for £200 last week. I'm going to send it to the guy who does all my console mods and see if he can get it going, I figured if it costs less than £150 to fix I've still done well. Will update later!

My latest impulse buy which will no doubt lead me down a Rabbit Hole, a Neo Geo Pocket game I saw in CEX. I love Puzzle Bobble but have never played the NGP version so will have to get hold of the console to play it on now. I love the clam shell case which is like a Game Boy sized version of the Neo Geo games (next to it for scale)

Well this is definitely my best score for a while! I've been looking for a large Sony Trinitron for ages, but whenever they come up for sale they are 500 miles away. This one was "only" 40 miles away, and apparently nobody else in the area wanted it - I won it for 99p!

The seller was a nice old guy who just didn't want to send it to landfill, so was glad to see it go to somebody who would use it. He couldn't guarantee it worked as hadn't used it for 12 years, so it was a bit of a gamble, but I gave him £20 for it as would have felt bad handing over 99p. I would have paid more if I could have seen it working there, but as I couldn't I thought the price I paid was fair enough (also factoring in the three hour round trip.)

Anyway it does indeed work, and I'm stoked with it!

It's alive! I sent it to the guy who does all my mods, and he discovered it had some liquid damage from a spill  the good news is although that required some board repairs, everything else was working fine, so it was actually cheaper than replacing the CD laser. He also installed a multi-region mod which changes the LCD colour depending on region, and replaced the save battery with a chip! So this is now a fully modded Multi-Mega and has cost me a shade over £350 all in. If anyone else is interested in recapping or upgrades etc, I highly recommend them, very reasonable prices and top notch work: https://bytesfree.co.uk

Lovely console Ed. I owned one years ago when I worked for SEGA but the CD unit died and there wasn't anyone available at the time who were repairing the Multi-Mega's.

New toy arrived today - 10 way automatic SCART switch. I had a cheap plastic 5 way switch before which required pressing a button for the input you want, and it also had picture quality issues. This switches automatically and gives a flawless picture. It was about £80 all in so not cheap, but well worth it if you want to hook multpile consoles to one TV. Here's the link if anyone's interested: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004651422297.htm

An update to my Neo Geo Pocket collection, I got a few of these from CEX recently as prices are way cheaper than eBay, and all but one came with the manuals (which I returned.) I had never played any of these before and they are actually really cool games, slightly better graphics than a Game Boy and the sound reminds me of the Master System.
