Last week my 3 year old knocked our TV off its stand
While looking for new TVs I noticed that some had Android built in, and this gave me a great idea! I picked up a TCL 50" TV for £379, which is a Chinese brand but had good reviews, the build quality is excellent compared to some of the rubbish I saw in PC world that looked like they were made out of recycled plastic. Then I installed RetroArch on it from the Google Play Store, and added some ROMs to the TVs built in 16GB storage using a USB stick. I already had a wireless controller for my PC, so I now have a full retro gaming collection in our living room running just off the TV, no consoles necessary! It performs really well, even Neo Geo and MAME games run at full speed.
If you don't want to buy a new TV you could just buy an Android box and plug that in to your existing TV, but it's great having it all built in with no clutter.
