I thought that was pretty much the definition of "routine win". United weren't great, but didn't need to be. No disrespect to Cambridge, but you would expect a club of the size of Utd to beat them comfortably at home, and that's exactly what happened. Cambridge didn't disgrace themselves at all, far from it, plenty of PL sides will put up less fight at OT this season. I just wouldn't read anything into that performance from a Utd point of view.
I see Harry Redknapp's quit. BIZARRE timing. Can someone explain how he thinks two days AFTER the transfer window closes is the best time to leave? I doubt it's a spur of the moment decision so why go now when your replacement can't get anyone in to help? He says he has quit because of an upcoming knee replacement op. As we all know the NHS have a habit of scheduling operations with no warning at all cos they aren't busy so he obviously wouldn't have known it was coming!
If I was Tony Fernandes I'd be livid. Not only has be bought a squad full of over paid has beens, and done his best to relegate them for a second time, but he's now jumped ship at about the worst possible time. Cheers 'arry!
Ohh and Edd/Pete, thoughts on Adebayor's non move?
