Premier League Discussion Thread Season 2014-15

0-0 at Cambridge then for us. Well that was embrassing and serious questions need to be asked. If David Moyes had been in charge their would be outrage.

Sure but it's just making a bit of a mockery of a once great competition. It's getting more and more meaningless each year.
Of the top 6 of the Premier League only Man Utd and Arsenal are still in it and neither are through the round yet. And it's only the 4th round!!
Not good for the competition at all.

All I think it highlights is how lazy and unambitious PL footballers have become due to the ridiculous money they get paid. These lower league teams and players really benefit from the extra cash, and it shows in their game. Seriously I would rather Roy put out a team of non-leaguers for England, there's nothing less inspiring than watching a bunch of B-grade PL players try and pretend they give a ****.

Three most succesful clubs in English football history still in the FA Cup though, Liverpool, Man UTD and Arsenal.

And very true too - just hoping Brighton dont do anything heroic

The prem teams with replays usually play better second time round because the rockets up their arses still hurts

Not sure what to make of the latest FAC draw. The last one I assumed was full of gimme games for the big sides and ehhh, that didn't quite work out.

Yes not the best. A decent draw for Bradford tho.At home at Valley Parade at home to a PL side (possibly) with a fuull house is all they could ask for.

Not the best for Man United (replay pending of course) Yet another banana skin of an away draw

Tricky for Liverpool as well. Palace seem to be doing well under Pardew (somehow) and we all know what happened there in the league last season.

Yeah I don't fancy Sheffield United away, prefer Preston I think. Three away draws now.

I know mate! What happened to that time when we ALWAYS used to draw a Premier League side. Think the players find it hard to get themselves up for these sorts of games. We have nothing to win and everything to lose.

I know we have had some really bad draws recently last two draws I've watched we have been the last ones out of the hat. Would be nice to get to the final, as we haven't been to a domestic cup final since 2010!

About time Utd got some hard draws. They have a reputation/history for getting easy draws, particularly in CL groups.

Yeovil Town, Cambridge United and Preston/Sheffield United isn't exactly a hard cup run but would be nice to have a home tie.

As for easy CL draws, 4 out of the 5 times Liverpool won the competition they didn't evan have a group stage.

Ohh are we talking about history now................ :D

TBH, I act think the lack of a group stage makes it harder, one **** up and you're staring down the barrel. Although, that is countered by the fact that in those days the Champions League was only open to actual champions, not teams who may have finished 5th (Liverpool and Real Madrid, both once). So the general standard of opposition was lower. Then again, travel wasn't as easy as it is now. Zenith St Petersberg away, easy, quick 3 hour flight, sorted. In the 70's and 80's it wasn't quite so simple.
Hard to compare across the years/generations.

I think Chelsea finished 6th and went too. Having won it the previous year.
