Congratulations Spurs, long old wait for a trophy. Disaster of a season for Man Utd. Who would have thought Spurs, Newcastle and Palace would win silverware this season.

Yep congratulations to Spurs. Utd didn't turn up at all again! I've typed and deleted for 10 mins now, don't have the words, but as a Utd fan I'm gutted again! Worse season ever!

Can't stand them winning, make no apologies for that, but the above set of results is why we're all football fans - you live, breath etc etc every match, the hopes and dreams of all of us, plus the unpredictability of the game, makes for a most compelling attraction.

I was at the FGR vs Southend playoff last night and made the mistake of standing with the FGR 'ultras'.
Yep, well done, Spurs. Good trophy to win and pretty amazing to do it after being so poor this season.

Absolutely dire game. Two **** sides, playing **** football, shitly. Fair play to spuds they had a game plan and it worked. I'm much happier seeing them win than Utd, for obvious reasons.
Big call for Levy to make on Ange now. He said he prioritised the EL, and fair enough there may be a degree of truth in that, but noway in hell should Spurs be 17th. Even allowing for injuries that is a shmabolic season. Levy has the same decision to make that Utd did last year. They, utterly bizarrely, gave ETH more time and a **** tonne of money to spend/waste and then sacked him inside 10 odd games. Levy won't open the purse strings like Utd did, it's not his way, but he is in a similar predicament.
Big summer for Utd, they need an entire new squad, and have no CL money, no European football and still owe 300m for players they have already signed. I suspect anyone is for sale in that club for anything approaching 70% of what they are worth. And that's not "what Utd think they are worth" cos we all know they put stupidly high values on dross. It's what the market thinks they are worth….and subtract 30%.
That club is at a cross roads, and without being flippant, one way leads to the Championship. They really are that bad and that much of a mess on and off the pitch.
Ps, WHAT THE **** happened to Son? He was worse than Hojlund when he came on. All he did was give it away and give it away and give it away. On the handful of occasions he didn't **** it away instantly he overran it. Not even a pale shadow of himself. A pale shadow of an amateur league footballer.

Couldn't believe it myself either, was 100% expecting yet another disappointment, we've lost four finals and probably even more semi finals in recent years, it had become a self fulfilling prophecy. I was very emotional when the final whistle went even though I was watching it at home on my own, for some reason I can't remember why I missed the 2008 League Cup Final and had lost interest in football in '99, so this was the first time I had seen Spurs win a trophy in 34 years! 
It was a dreadful game, a dreadful goal, a horrible season all round, and we absolutely didn't deserve a trophy at this point in time, BUT I feel we were well overdue one having been so competitive for most of the last decade so I'm not going to complain about how we won it (Arsenal finished 8th last time they won the FA Cup right?)

I'm really pleased he's won a trophy, 100% deserves one, but as I said in a previous post he's past his best now and on a sharp decline. One of the reasons we've been so dire this season.
Sunderland win the play offs. I'd rather see them up than SU but…..
How many points will they get next year, 20? 25?

Yeah, prefer them to SU, but just can't see them staying up. At all. Leeds and Burnley might have an outside chance.
I hope one or two of them stay up. Promoted sides going straight back down every year is dull, and not good for football.
Besides, how are Utd supposed to go down if the three promoted sides all beat them to it?

Gutted for blades, my mums side of the family are all SU fans so pretty much my second team. Either side would have got battered next season though, so Sunderland it is.
What a crap season! At least we finished top of the shite mini-league, though 
Yep worst league season I can remember, yet ironically the best in 17 years because we won a trophy. It's a strange game!
@lejackal serious question, having been in the same situation ourselves recently finishing second with nothing to show for it, what's more important, a trophy or a good season? While Wednesday was amazing, I have hated almost every other weekend of this season. On refelction I'm not sure a trophy makes up for it, although I was disappointed that we didn't win anything in the "golden era" of 2017-2023 I think I got more satisfaction from us playing well and competing at the top.

I would take a trophy if it's the Europa League over any league position other than first. It's what football is about for fans, league position is for the owners.

Winning the CL would have been amazing, as it stands it's been a ****er of a season, but I have to say I'm quite impressed we got as far as we did with the injuries and self inflicted stupidity at times. That said, I don't know how much that was us being good, and how much it was the rest being shite
