Premier League 2020/2021 Thread

It's funny how Jose can lose a game 4-3 and be called 'park the bus outdated football', yet last night Real literally had 10 men in their penalty box at all times, they didn't even try to score once, yet are praised for their 'resilliance' and 'winning mentality' by the commentators. I swear half the people who talk about football don't even watch it.

It would be so typical for PSG to win the CL. Jose is having his worst season ever at Spurs, breaking every negative record. Then Poch wins the CL in his first season away from Spurs. The joys of supporting this team

Thing is with Jose he doesn't help himself and puts himself up their to be shot at. Real Madrid were clever last night they have seen how Liverpool have come back god knows how many times when they were down and out. Real said we don't concede no matter what stage of the game your in.

I agree half the pundits don't watch the games properly, they all think Man Utd should spend all their transfer budget on a striker. Anyone who watches United would say we need players in 4 positions none of which are a number 9. I think Cavani has averaged 0.98 chances per game since he joined, it's the grave yard shift. Haaland's carrier would dive if he joined Man Utd. You need to bake the cake before you put icing on it!

You have a point.

Although I guess the counter argument is Real don't play 10 at the back week in week out, and are occasionally entertaining to watch. Jose's sides are NEVER good to watch (and that goes back to his first Chelsea stint).

That CL semi final line up is a tough one to pick a team to support.

A rich man's play thing v's the most dislikable club in world football
A Petro state's play thing v's The same Petro state's other play thing.

Or for me,

The club that brought Jose to the PL, employed John Terry, Drogba, Cashley, has never been good to watch, has some seriously self entitled fans who don't realise if Ibramovich hadn't bought them they would be Leeds or Portsmouth V's the cunties club in the world. One that taps up with impunity, has employed Jose, Ramos, Pepe, Ronaldo, and has been bailed out by the local council.

In the other it's two clubs who are owned by a Sovereign wealth fund of a country with very questionable human rights record. One of which was a mid table Championship side before having billions poured in. The other plays such horrible diving, play acting, cheating shite that they had me supporting Utd for the first time in nearly 30yrs.

City win, by default.

Agreed. Utd need a CB, a midfielder, a right winger and probably another striker. Ohh and rid of some dead wood.

If we get a striker Martial or Cavani need to go, Greenwood can be anything he wants to be and must be given a chance. We need a centre back and DCM first and foremost. Verane and Rice would do nicely!

Rumour is Cavanni wants to go back to South America. He has been ok, but I wouldn't worry too much if he goes. When he plays his runs off the ball are superb, he has a real football brain, but his injury record is poor and you can't help shake the feeling he is only really there for the money.

Not sure on Rice, not seen a huge amount of him, but he is similar to Grealish for me. If he wasn't English no one would be raving about him.
Grealish is just a ****ing show pony, I REALLY don't see what people rave about. He has a team built around him, he should look good. For me, he looks no better than any "good" PL attacking midfielder would in his position.
As for the price tag Villa were talking, 100m+, by that logic you boys must all be worth about £20m.

Yeah Cavani can go as I've said before to injury prone, Rice is 22, moves the ball forward quickly and is captain of West Ham. Ticks all the boxes, oh and they want Lingard. Which is actually a bad thing because Woodward will go to the Glaziers I've done a really good swap deal for Lingard just need you to sign it off and they will be like what do you mean swap deal, you mean we don't get any money? So we don't get the 20% of the sale? No no Ed don't do that keep him and give him a five year deal, then we will get more for him next summer. Next summer comes and he's spent all season on the bench because Bruno is better, not just better but better for Utd as teams sit back against us and Lingard is a number 10 that runs into space.

That's why our wage bill is £40 million more than any other PL team, Jones, Mata and over £600k a week on 3 goalkeepers, I could go on!

If we get Verane I will be amazed he has a year left on his contract and I'm sure he's using Man Utd to get a better deal at Real, Woodward and the other muppets will love it because it will boost the share price being linked with him.

100% Varane is using Utd. He will never sign for them.

I agree on Lingard to an extent. Though Ed is just as likely to negotiate a deal along the lines of Lingard plus 100m for Rice.
But the bringing him back and giving him a new contract, then not playing him, thing did make me laugh. It would be typical Utd.

What odds on an all English EL final?

I'd like to think we can beat Valencia, Roma and Utd, two are not really any better than us and the other we have a good recent record against. Yes, we are inconsistent, but Arteta seems to know how to win big games. Naturally now I've said this we'll find a way to lose following further spectacular use of the own foot shotgun

Europa League - if Man Utd don't win it then it will just be more proof that the players are not good enough, if Arsenal win it they will completely save their season, if they don't then theirs no European football for them next season.

Verane won't join Man Utd and we will end up with another average centre back and Ole will stick Magaloof next season.

Rice will only join if Chelsea aren't interested in him and Woodward and the others are sacked in the next 6 weeks, never going to happen.

Interesting, but ehhh how do you think they will do against Villareal!?

I'd agree with most of that.

Pretty depressing to be a Man Utd fan at the moment, unless you were born yesterday and fell of a banana boat. lol

Whoops.

Seriously though they've played 30 and got 46 points in a pish league, I know that is marginally better than us in a pretty crap PL season but we really should beat them

Relative to what it has been like to support Utd for most of the last 30 years, but.....Utd are still better than 95% of the other clubs in the football leagues in England, so I dare say fans of a hell of a lot of other clubs would gladly swap places with you.
Not me though, I'd sooner cut my nads off with a rusty spoon than support your lot

I know FA about Villareal TBH. I used to know a fair bit about the Spanish sides but Sky lost the La Liga rights (and still put their prices up) so I haven't seen any of La Liga in a few years. Spanish sides are rarely poor, but it's the EL and second level Spanish sides (ie non Madrid sides and Barca) can be very hit or miss. Sevilla are great (at EL level) but the rest are inconsistent. Saying that Arsenal are....an enigma, at best.

Hopefully it should be a decent game. I'd like to see another all English final. I've had enough of Spain lording it over European footy. But I only want an all English final if Utd lose lol

You're not wrong, I know I'm biased but I genuinely think we have it in us to beat anyone, however, we could just as easily lose to Fulham ladies under 12's

I hope you get your wish

Kane injured, as if our season wasn't over already. Just what we need a week before a cup final against City. I wonder if that's him out of the Euros too

That draw pretty much ends any slight hope Spurs and Everton had of a top four spot too. No chance they will close the points gap now. They may get one or two of the sides above them dropping enough points, and them winning most of their games, but they won't get all four/five.

Horrible timing for Kane, stoppage time too I think. It's his ankle, again, again, again. If he is sensible he will take time off and let it recover. He already has dodgy ankles and rushing back will only weaken them long term. BUT with a cup final, European push and Euro's on the horizon, he'll be back in double quick time. And in return he will lose a year at the top level.
He'll be the new Wazza, done (at the very top) by the time he is 32.

Thank god for that the treble is off for another season! lol Just need Spurs to win next weekend now.

Quadruple.

Treble is still on.

Not 'the Man Utd treble'. City and Liverpool have already done trebles, but not that treble.
