Premier League 2020/2021 Thread

Ohh and I thought yer Brentford boy was a bit unlucky to be sent off. ONLY seen the red card, but it looked like he slipped as he went in to tackle him. It was a horrible tackle, but it looks like an accident to me. I can see why he was sent off, but he was a bit unlucky for me.

Agreed it was obviously an accident, red card was harsh. It does make me wonder though, what has happened to shin pads? When I used to play football 20 years ago they were massive things that went round your ankles, OK they were a bit restrictive but they did the job. Now all PL players seem to either wear a couple of coffee lids just under their knees, or ponce around in ankle socks like Grealish, what do they expect to happen!?

That's 4 semi finals this Man Utd side has bottled and the 4th that those two donkey centre backs have cost us.

Harry Maguire loses his EIGHTH semi final

Big Covid outbreak at Villa apparently, that'll be Liverpool's FAC match and Spurs PL match off at least. Villa are already two games behind most other clubs so it's going to get silly if they fall too many behind.

All these players should be self isolating, the money they are paid and they can't even follow the rules. weasel if Man Utd get any where near winning at Anfield I'll eat my hat. If and its a big if, we beat Burnley and go into the Liverpool game 3 points in front of them, they will be so up for that game and destroy Man Utd's back 4 in the first 20 minutes.

Will it be postponed though? No replays in FAC and Orient had to concede to Spurs in the Worthless cup. Make Villa play with kids and whoever isn't infected. Liverpool had to play their U18's against them last year, Villa's turn this year.

Actually Saints game is postponed isn't it? So that will be Pool's game postponed then as well.

Have you seen Liverpool "attack" in their last three games? They would have more goal threat with Stephen Hawking firing about in his wheelchair.

I just think this Man Utd team is close to being able to compete with Liverpool and City but actually they are miles away and the season is a couple of bad results away from imploding on them. If the board actually cared and did something about it in the transfer market quickly then I may be more optamistic.

It's that kind of season though - a month ago Spurs were top of the table and Jose was a counter attacking master, Chelsea were 2nd or third and Lampard was the hottest new manager, while United were about 8th and OSG was one game away from the sack, and Arteta hadn't won a game for months and was somehow still employed.

Fast forward a month and the news is telling us Jose is a park the bus has been, OSG is going to win the league, Lampard is about to get fired, and Arteta is the right man for the Arsenal job.

Very true edd_jedi , I still think we will end up with the same ending as the last 3 seasons, Liverpool or City winning it.

Well that's a swizz, Liverpool get to play Villa's under 13 team at the weekend but their match against Spurs is probably going to be postponed

Yeah, I don't see the fairness there at all. But I guess other sides with bigger squads have been allowed to postpone PL games so....

Looks like Spurs are now playing Fulham though. Who only found out that was a possibility today. So much for their week off and any chance for them to take that into consideration at the weekend.

Ps, Spurs were lucky against Marine, that game was right in the balance until the fifth goal!

Ah yes looks like that has just been confirmed, was just a possibility this morning. I watched the Villa v Liverpool game, did they ever even get out of their own half!? It was like watching shooting practice.

It was a fun game to watch, the first 20 minutes were fairly competitive! I wish that shot that hit the crossbar had gone in, would have been a great story for the club to have been winning, even if only for a few minutes.

Ehhh, Villa did, about twice. They scored with their only shot on target. I think Pool had nearly 30shots, but then you would expect that against an under 23/18 side. I did hear Villa had to get special permission from the Police to allow some of their players' parents to drive them to the game, cos they weren't old enough to have driving licenses. Genuinely.

Agreed on yer man hitting the bar. I did laugh when I read that Marine have numbers on the fence at the side of their pitch, so if the ball goes over it they know which house to go and knock on. Brilliant

You won't believe it Weasel but City drew a League Two team in the cup! Can't complain too much I guess as Spurs got Wycombe, but Liverpool vs United is a big draw!

You beat me to it.

City get YET A ****ING NOTHER easy domestic cup draw. It REALLY got boring 2 years ago.

And ohhh look, Pool get yet another stinker FAC draw.

I don't care about the FAC, but it is annoying to see City given bye after bye to the latter stages.

And in 5th round City get Swansea or Forest

What a surprise another gimme. Seriously, is it just me or are City's draws ridiculous!?

Utd/Pool get WH
Spurs get Everton/Shef Wed
Chelsea get Barnsley/Norwich

I'm actually happy with Liverpool at least its a game to look foreward to, might change my view when Liverpool's under 23's knock us out!
