Premier League 2012/13 Discussion Thread

A lot of kids I teach ask why I hate Liverpool. And the answer is simple before ManUre there was Liverpool. They were the team to beat and were the one who won most things early to mid 80s. Probably why I have a soft spot for Everton.

But I have to say they thoroughly deserved their win today against Swansea and that Coutinho looks like he may be a hell of a player.

Haven't seen any of the game yet. Would have been nice if they could have scored a few against the Baggies, but still will take the 3pts.

Haven't seen any of the game, but my god it's gotta be tough being a Gooner!

At least Pool, very occassionally win something. Arse just flatter to decieve and as they get weaker season by season so the flattery gets worse. They can play some beautiful football but you know they won't even get close to challenging for a major trophy. When was the last time they were in contention for the PL with 3-4 games to go? Yeah, they make the CL every season (up to this one I suspect) but they are never actually in title contention come the home straight.
Ditto the CL, they normally get out of their group, partly due to UEFA rigging it to favour the big sides, but then they lose in the last 16 or the 1/4's!

For the record, I'd love Liverpool to be the position Arse are currently in. I suspect it will be a few years before they are even challenging for a CL spot again and a long time before we see them pushing for a PL title, mainly due to the money city/chelsea can spunk about. But as a sane Liverpool fan (who doesn't say "next year will be our year" ever nevermind every fecking year) I know we wont be winning a mojor trophy anytime soon. Arse seem to specialise in torturing their fans.

I remember once someone came up with a formula for the most stressful team to watch. It was Notts County at the time, must have been about 5 years ago. Would love to see an update of this

Anyone know what's going to be announced tomorrow about man utd and one of their star players? David gill has announced his retirement today too.

Not heard anything about that!

Hopefully it's that one of them is the new Jimmy Saville/Harold Shipmann!

Re: man utd nothing new just more news on rooney's summer exit. I was hoping for mor
He would have already been sold but Nike didn't want him to go as he makes tonnes of cash for them

Ooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, could Chelsea perhaps miss out on CL this year? Here's hoping so.
The positions 3-6 seem to be a great battle this year.

Oh and Gareth Bale regarding your comments about Spurs being better than Arsenal!!!
You're bang on right! The squad has been better than Arsenal's for a couple of seasons now. However, the team that finishes higher in the league is the better team, simple as that. Last dozen or so games are going to be very interesting!

Away to the happy Hammers is never an easy game

1 - 0 to the Swans. Don't mind who wins but Bradford scoring first would have made a hell of a game.
