Finally got around to watching the Arsenal Spurs highlights. Yikes. Let's start with the choice of defenders, what the hell was that back 4? You experiment with your defence in an FA Cup game against Scunthorpe, not a PL game against Arsenal. Foyth has already proved he's incompetent, I'll come to that later. How can he not start Alderweireld in this match? Unforgiveable.

Arsenal's equalizer was completely avoidable, it was a great/lucky strike (I say lucky because Son had an almost identical chance which of course didn't go in) but it was another case of terrible defending.

The 3rd goal was entirely Foyth's fault, it was a nice finish but a complete gift. If Foyth starts the next game I will not be happy, he's now made 3 major **** ups in four games, that is not acceptable for a new player.

Finally Vertonghen's sending off, I just don't get it. He got the ball, by a mile, and the Arsenal spaz runs into his foot half a second later. That is not even a foul, let alone a sending off.

Looked like Arsenal deserved to win overall, but Spurs could have happily sat back at 2-1 and ground out a result. Or even a draw at 2-2. I still think Spurs are capable of being a great team, but as this game proved they will never win anything until they learn to defend, and Poch stops making ****ing stupid/arrogant team choices.

Can't argue about leaving Alderweireld on the bench. Daft.
Foyth looks like a white Djimi Traore, that's no compliment.
I think you're right, Arsenal probably deserved it on balance, but the game changed with Emery's half time substitutions. Poch didn't react. That was the difference.

Looking forward to Arsenal Utd (or is it Utd Arsenal!?) tonight.

Yeah I bet your looking forward to tonight! It's at Old Trafford, I can see the pressure building on JM again with a bad defeat. It's another great opportunity for the players to at least start to turn things around, but I can't see it happening. Tricky midweek game for Liverpool, Burnley away.

Yeap, on paper you would fancy Liverpool to win comfortably, but they have been massively underwhelming recently. In fact they haven't really clicked for most of the season. Burnley have been pretty pish most of the year too, though they did over achieve massively last year. My money is on a cagey tight affair with a goal or maybe 2 in it (either way).

As for Utd Arsenal, I see Jose has his excuses out already. Arsenal are fresher than Utd cos they have been playing in EL all season.
Yeah, fair comment Jose, not like Utd have a big squad, and no one knew the EL was easier than the CL in the summer either. Weirdly, the year Utd won the EL they finished outside the top 4 despite it being so much easier than CL. Hhhhmmm, it's ALMOST as if you're just talking shite Jose and getting (yet another) excuse in pre game. Try looking a bit closer to home for the reason Utd are so shite.

I fear he may not last much longer, I still think the bigger picture here is the owners and the board. This will be 3 managers they have tried and failed, with the present owners and board nothing will change. If Jose does get sacked he will get another job and be succuesful IMO.

Well Spurs have apparently learned nothing since Sunday. Yes we're winning, but Southampton have arguably had the better chances in the first half. I just don't understand how we make it so easy? Is there any other team in the league that somehow manages to bend over and give the opposition a goal scoring opportunity EVERY time the ball goes in their own half? It's like there is no defence, just 7 midfielders. I know Mourhino gets some stick for his 'boring' tactics, but I'm getting sick of Poch's 0-7-3 formation every game.

but I think you're describing Arsenal for the last 7 years there.

this game v Man U is terrible, entertaining for neutrals but both defences are shocking.

I have a funny feeling he will be kept on until CL is mathmatically impossible the. He'll be fired. There arent many top notch managers available ATM so no real incensive to sack him. Though he is doing his best to get fired or to make his own position untenable. But that's Jose, that's what he does.

I agree the Board should go too, but the are more concerned with money than winning trophies. I cut them a little slack on the Moyesy appointment as Fergy was pushing him. Though surely common sense dictates youpoint out Moyesy is ehhh Moyesy.

WHEN Jose is sacked, he will probably get another job, but I think his days at the top European clubs are over. Anyone who would have him, has employed him (or he has managed a close rival) everyone else knows what he is like. He'll still find employment but it won't be at the kind of club that will be challenging for the CL. Insert your own funny about Utd.

Well I got the Utd-Arsenal result right, but I wasn't expecting Chelsea to lose. The 3-1 scoreline for Spurs was very flattering, Southampton hit the woodwork three times.

We missed a big opportunity to go third last night, I know there's a long way to go but still would love to have won that one

I can't believe Liverpool, best ever start and their still probably not going to win the league. This form probably would have won them the league in any of the previous seasons before Pep came along. I'm not complaining but even I have to feel for them a tiny bit.

I was talking to a Utd supporting mate the other day and said I could see Liverpool finishing second behind City (no one is catching them) with a record high points total for a runner up. The kinda pts total that would have walked the PL every other year. Sod's law, the time Liverpool get their **** together is the same time as the PL has one of the greatest sides it will ever see.

Ohh and I also expect Liverpool to be out of the CL by next Wednesday night. So we will have Utd coming to Anfield 16 ish pts behind Liverpool, playing the worst football they have played in..........scratch that........playing the same dire brand of "football" they have played for 6 years and yet Utd will still be in the CL and Pool will be looking forward to playing the Kazakstani runners up in the second round of the EL.
Such is football.

The Utd Arsenal game was a disappointment. Entertainign enough but the footy on display was piss poor. I think all four goals came as a result of shite defending or **** ups, rather than moments of brilliance. Saying that there are definite signs of progress at Arsenal. If Emery can get that defence sorted/replaced they could be very dangerous.

It's certainly a good season to be ****, if their is such a thing. Still a lot of football to be played and things can change quickly, look at Cardiff.

Actually I think this season is closer than last, City are looking damned fine again but one loss and it's all to play for again. What seems different this season is that the top 5 seems settled already, there's a massive gap in points between fifth and the rest of the table. So it looks like City and Liverpool scrapping it out for the title, and then the other three fighting for 3rd and 4th.

Good news Edd, Foyth is injured! Poch will have to employ the novel tactic of picking his best two CB's in tandem now. Either that or buck Dier in there and leave one of them on the bench.

Oh God Poch's at it again - Arsenal and Chelsea both win leaving us in 5th, so he's resting Kane and Erriksen

Yes, I was annoyed at that too, however Spurs played well and got a deserved win. Dele, Moura and especially Son played very well and looked dangerous going forward, with Son scoring another excellent goal. Defensively, we were solid (strange that, when we play our two best CB's thanks to Foyth's injury... who'd have thought it?), and although Lloris did make a few saves towards the end of the game, he never looked troubled.

Next up... Barcelona!

That's it Manchester United are going to catch Man City now, closed the gap yesterday!! The Chelsea/City game was a good result for English football, if they pull away like last season it will be rubbish.

As for Liverpool they are really starting to worry me now, they need to start dropping some points.

My money is on next weekend. Jose will park his bus and get an undeserved point or 3.
Liverpool go top of the league, City lose a game, then Liverpool lose to their buggest rivals at Anfield and watch City go unbeaten for the rest of the season. Sounds so typically Liverpool.

As for Spurs,mI could understand Poch's logic. The risk was worth taking. Plenty more opportunities if they slip up in PL. The game on Tues is **** or busy and as tricky as they come.
