PL 2016-2017 Thread

City ll get too cocky and slip up eventually....(fingers crossed from a man u fan)
I think its gonna be a good close season.

I can't see Utd winning it. Far too many holes in that team. Even with Shrek on the bench they still don't look like a championship winning side. CL spot will be a good season for them.

Chelsea have all sorts of problems though. Ivanovic has been utterly woeful in the last two games. I mean Titus Bramble bad. Cahill hasn't been much better. When one of your other two defenders is David Luis you know you got problems.

I'm a Man Utd supporter and you have to be realistic, failed to qualify for CL 2 out of last 3 seasons, pissed away 200 mill on midfielders and Micheal Carrick is better than any of them by a country mile.

Let's face it Man City have had the best squad for the last 5 seasons but have only won 2 league titles, so winning the league this season is half expected by most.

West Ham look like their in trouble, Big Sam not looking so bad now is he?!?

Top 3 finish and a cup final would be good for Man Utd IMO.

West Ham will be fine. That squad is more than good enough for PL. Whether it's second season syndrome or maybe Bilic has 'lost the dressing room' I'm not sure. But there is definitely enough quality in that squad to stay up. I could name 7 or 8 squads/sides that are worse than WH. They may end up with a new manager, but they'll be fine. Too early to make comparisons with Fat Sam. It's only a handful of games into the season, and they did a wee tad better last season than when the fat smug prick was in charge.

Top 3 would be a fantastic achievement for Utd. The cup final bit is always a lottery, you could get cushy draws (like the season you played, was it millwall in the final?) or you could get City (a) in first round with the winners away to Arsenal/Pool/Spurs etc.

One thing is for sure Sunderland look to be ****ed. No idea why they thought moysey was the man for them. They would have been as well appointing an experienced Championship manager and accepting the bullet they have been dodging for years. They have a squad made up of journeymen, never weres and **** foreign players who don't give a ****.

Hey, the season we beat Cardiff in the final we knocked Arsenal out in the semi finals, which was the same season Arsenal whent through the league unbeaten all season! Last season we were lucky with the Cup run, have to accept that.

Everyone needs to stay calm this season, it's early days and sacking any manager now would be silly IMO. Long, long way to go.

Aye, there was one season, god knows when, and if memory serves Utd made the final of the FAC having basically had byes the whole way. Some second or third division side at OT is as good as a bye in my book. That's Fergy's Utd not the shite that's there now.

Ohh and I almost forgot, that penalty that City got against Swansea was an utter joke. If referees are going to be consistent and give those every week I'm looking forward to the first game where both teams hit double figures.

Don't know what cup run that was, last season was the easeast I can remember, before 2004, we won it in the treble season, knocking out Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal before getting to the final! Then theirs the 96' final which all Liverpool supporters remember for being a **** game. Before that was the 94' final when we beat Chelsea 4-0 and before that was the 1990 final when we beat Palace who beat the great Liverpool side in the semi final. :)

Don't ask me who we played in the 1990 cup run I was 10 and know we knocked Oldham out in a semi final replay, perhaps it was that season? :?

If that doesn't make your position untenable I don't know what does.

Good riddance (assuming the FA actually have the brains to sack him) to the worst appointment in living memory.

If they don't it's a disgrace, seen as they wouldn't consider Harry for similar reasons.

The list of potential replacements is utterly underwhelming.
Pardew (frying pan to fire), Steve Bruce (how?), Eddie Howe (far too soon for him) and Glen Hoddle (apparently getting sacked for some massively inappropriate comments doesn't actually preclude you from being appointed).

The FA would actually be better appointing Ron ****ing Manager from the Fast Show.

How about Ron Atkinson? :?

It is amazing what about Gareth Southgate?

67 days and one game.. is it a record?

Yes it is.......... a 100% winning record

Seriously though what a twat

So much for his so called advisers, agent and whoever else he surrounded himself with to guide his career

Anyone for Mark Warburton as England manager :D

Hsi contract was three million quid a year, and he ****ed it away for a potential 400k.
Even if he was atrocious as Enlgnad manager he'd prob have got 18 months. There's £4.5 million. Of the tax man takes a lot, but added on to what he has earnt over his career it's not like he was short of a few quid.

Big win for Spurs today and very happy with that.
Can't wait to see what the lads on MOTD2 make of the Arsenal goal though...
