PL 2015-16 Chat

What's going on with Newcastle? Didn't think we were amazing last night, but it was a very straight forward win. £49 m spent and bottom for the Barcodes...[/quote]

It's just the same every year mate, I chucked my ticket it when souness was there and it hasn't moved forward.
We can pass the ball round ok and did, played a good defensive game against Man Utd but we've got nowt up front at all, come Xmas and not paying £15m for Austin will look worse, we'll struggle this season I think.
No disrespect meant mate but, we should be giving you a harder time than that!
Nevermind, there'll still be 52,000 next game expecting to see a black and white Barcelona.

It's sad to see, to be honest. Yeah, you should have given us a game- we didn't really get out of second gear, and more importantly, we didn't need to. A little worrying for you guys...

its a disgrace, a few games in and it's looking bad, I can't look at the fixtures and think we'll get 3 points there, it just doesn't happen anymore, sad.
We could be up the creek and Stevie boys using the paddle to keep dry!
I'm dreading the Sunderland match!!

Payet's looking a bargain. When you look at the money Liverpool have spent since Suarez left (£25m on Lallana, £20m Markovic, £29m Firminho), he's looking like amazing value at around £10m.

He does look good so far, but we're only four games in to the season. He could well turn out to be a bargain or he could turn out to be the new Amir (?) Zachy.

I'd say you're spot on the amazing ability Liverpool have of over paying for mediocre and dross players. I think you missed a few names from your list though, Borini (£11m), Joe Allen (£15m), Luis Alberto (£6.8m) Igo Ass-pass (£7m) , Lovern (£20), Moreno (£12m), Mingolet (£9m), Origori (£9.8m), Ilori (£7m), and the worst of all Ballotelli (£16m).

That's just the £113.6 million, added to the £74 million you highlighted. The guts of £200 million quid wasted.

I think Lallana is ok, Markovic never got a decent run in the side and a few others, Allen/Moreno and Lovern are solid squad players or players who are horribly out of form. Liverpool still over paid for all of them.

The rest range from ridiculously over priced to expensive, inferior replacements for then squad members (Mingolet is no way better than Reina)

Agreed. Newcastle should be pushing for a Europa league spot but I suspect this year will be another in lower mid table obscurity. They aren't quite as bad a Sunderland, that's a club of squad players, but they aren't a kick in the arse off it. And they aren't headed in the right direction. Mike Ashley takes a fair chunk of the blame on that front

Ohh and best wishes to Luke Shaw (I know he reads the forum  ). That was a horrible injury, fingers crossed it's only a few months out and not a career ender.

I could get used to this! Winston Reid- WOW! What a performance 8)

Makes me laugh, Man City fans moaning about missing Kompany and Silva, yet they still fielded the most expensive side in Premier League history yesterday. We were missing Kouyate, Song, Ogbonna, Valencia and Carroll still isn't match fit.

Yeah hat's of to West Ham, already won at Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City. That's title winning form.

Ramos and Pepe are two of the biggest c*nts in football. I'd be quite happy to see him gub either of them

Costa is a bit of a liability for sure but I will say this..

The guy always fights his own battles (I know he starts most of them  )
And always has a hand shake and a smile with his sparring partners at the
end of the game.

Some genius officiating so far in the Spurs City game, both goals offside  forget goal line technology, it's very rare that it's not obvious if the ball went over the line or not, but they just should not get offside goals wrong. Thankfully the goals have just cancelled each other out so there is some justice.

Great result for Spurs, I agree on the off sides though. That Spurs first one was comical. I could see how he missed City's one, it was close, and Harry Kane's one is hard to judge given the mass of players. But **** me, that first one looked a mile off side in real time. Still, take it while you can Spurs fans.

After Spurs beating City and Chelsea struggling I think the Premeirship is up for grabs this season and I include Liverpool in that! 82, 83 points might be enough to win the league this season, just going to take one side to go on a 11 or 12 game winning streack and it could be their's. Just depends on who does it, will probably be Man City though.
