Non League Football Chat

Absolutely gutted to get smashed at home to Lincoln. We have no plan B and they took full advantage. Losing 1-3 with 25 mins to go warrants a change. All Hurst did was swap Clay for Paddy Mac, like for like central midfielder. The crowd got right on his back as it needed the traditional 3 at the back, centreback up top approach but no, he stuck by his guns and that is gonna lead to his downfall! Fent has voted him out at the last 2 meetings but the majority has stuck with him. He is too defensively minded that is his problem. Anyways, as usual, due to other results falling for us, we are still right in the mix so however we perform we will be in the play offs as we will only lose a few more and win a few more.
Up next Macc at home New Years Day.

PS Talking of Macc, at their place, 1 of their nasty little bastards keyed all down 1 side of our ready rent a van so i have just had to pay out an extra £280 to them for the damage the ****ing scruffy twats!

Bit of a shambles again at the moment. Made no attempt to get today on, and down to 1 striker on the books!

So Messiah McDonald has joined Brackley of the conference North on a months loan while Carl Lamb has been released according to his twitter account. Leaving us with just ONE striker - Karl Hawley. New faces are surely imminent?!

I give up! We are pants at the mo. Toto our usual centreback partner for shaun pearson is serving a suspention last 2 games and Scotty Nielsen is out injured but no excuses, we have a big enuff squad to cope. We will, as every year, fall into the playoffs and lose in the semi's over 2 legs. Oh well, concentrate on the trophy it is then :)

Keep the faith Chiffy. Your luck in the Play offs may turn

Now for several months there have been vicious rumours of a Takeover at the club following on from the Chairman`s announcement last year that he was looking to sell.

According to the rumours a group of American Investors connected to a MLS club apparently FC Dallas are interested in the club.

The club has released a statement today. Here are a few of the most important segments

"As the new year unveils itself, the club will be announcing a unique forward-thinking international organisation with strong local roots and universal desires.
An official statement detailing specific matters will follow within the forthcoming days. "

I am presuming this an offical partnership with Local Global Chocolate Company Thorntons

Furthermore, "The clubs debt free position, which will not be compromised, remains the case, under-written by the chairman and hard-working board of directors. "

"The forum conduct in the past year has been of concern. The forum was launched by the club, run by the club and supported by the club for itâ supporters to debate matters but unfortunately, recent research has revealed that individuals from outside of the area have been commencing negative topics with unfounded information and encouraging where they can a negativity of debate. "

"A new horizon is soon to dawn and whilst specific information of such changes will be announced by the club within the forthcoming days, the club in turn would ask the fans for their continued trust and support. "

2015 loooks to be a very exciting year at the Impact Arena. With this and recent news that all but one of our strikers (Karl Hawley) have been sent on loan or released new signings look to be on the cards.

REDS ANNOUNCE INTERNATIONAL INVESTMENT & PARTNERSHIP VENTURE
Tuesday Jan 6, 2015
EXCITING TIMES AHEAD AND FUTURE LOOKS ROSY

THE trend of American investors venturing into English soccer has continued as Texas-based Legend Football Partners kicked off the New Year by acquiring an interest in Alfreton Town Football Club.
Legend Football Partners is a partnership between Texas-based Playbook Management International (PMI) and 1836 Capital. PMI is a sports management company whose interests include the Fort Worth Vaqueros soccer club.
1836 Capital is a corporate finance company that specialises in mergers and acquisitions.
ATFC owner and successful businessman Wayne Bradley has retained an interest in the club including three of the six seats on the club's board. The additional three board seats will be filled with Legend Football Partners representatives.
1836 Capital identified the opportunity and negotiated the investment. It's Managing Director Jonathan Collura explained the new partnership, which is effective as of January 1, 2015: "We have created an innovative ownership group with a successful sports management company, a stellar financial management group and passionate, fully committed local Alfreton Town ownership in England."
"This unique partnership is well positioned to help Alfreton Town Football Club realise the great potential that we believe the club has both on and off the field."
Long-standing Reds chairman Wayne Bradley explained how the international investment in the club and new partnerships will enable the club to build on the solid foundations already in place and help the club move forward positively.
"Alfreton Town Football Club has a long and proud history" Bradley said.
"I have been honoured to have been its chairman for the past sixteen years of that history. During my time as chairman I have overseen the club through four promotions, and won numerous cups and trophies in addition to generating substantial income via player transfer sales.
"The club now operates at the highest level of non league football in England. I have made it clear throughout my period as chairman that my main aim would be to achieve a place in the future of the game
pic_250_bradleyquote.jpgExciting
"The development of the game on a world stage progresses at pace and the challenge for Alfreton Town FC continues to mount.
Therefore, when the opportunity to link with like-minded individuals in the United States of America, I had no hesitation in exploring and developing those links to the good of the club.
"I am therefore delighted that the formalities of a partnership have been agreed. An exciting position has now been created. A position which will propel the great history of the club well and truly into the future.
"I firmly believe that I will have achieved my ultimate aim of securing a future for the football club in a shape that I could only have dreamed of" ended Bradley.
PMI owns and operates the Fort Worth Vaqueros of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), which is the fourth division of US soccer's professional structure.
PMI Managing Partner Michael Hitchcock commented: "Alfreton Town FC has enjoyed unprecedented success in the past five years and sits primed to continue to grow and find even greater success, both on and off the field.
"We are thrilled at the opportunity to continue that success with proven marketing strategies, innovative technology products, financial support, player sharing and expanding the ATFC brand throughout England and the global soccer market place."
The August through to May English season has little overlap with the American summer season, which will allow players to train and play with both clubs as well as potential pre-season tours for the Vaqueros in England and the Reds in Texas.
pic_500_VaquerosAlfretonTown500px.jpgAbout the Fort Worth Vaqueros
The Vaqueros launched in January 2014 and quickly made an impact through their grassroots and social media marketing. The club's name and logo were both chosen through fan voting. Meanwhile, the club launched its innovative season seat campaign that allowed supporters to wear their jersey into the stadium rather than needing paper tickets for entry. The Vaqueros opened the year with a season high 2,700 fans en route to an average of 2,000 per game.
About PMI

LOL I'm not reading all that tat i'll take your word for it! As Dodgy would say " if it's good enough for you it's good enough for me " :p

Sounded like a bore affair at Blundell park mate.

Anything but for us at Halifax. Took the lead three times but our shambolic defending (yet again) cost us as we lost 5-3!

Yeah was freezing cold and the usual dross. At least you saw an entertaining affair. Did you see Eastleigh won 4-0 vs lincoln AND missed 3 peno's aswell!

Anyone watch the game yesterday? Thought we were pretty awesome and blew away the league leaders with ease.
PS What the hell is Bradders doing taking pens???

Sorry mate missed it! :(

Was out yesterday. Great win for you boys.

Vital win for us! Bradders is our new king of pens with 4/4. He seems to have stepped up to the mantle! 8)

The long road out of this mess started yesterday.

Well! We thankfully got knocked out the trophy and have won 3 on the trot now! Is the title still on, play offs look a cert but can we carry on the momentum? Christian Jolley and Oli Palmer on board aswell, just won at Eastleigh who have only lost once at home(shuda been 7-0 listening on radio) and at home to bottom club Telford on Saturday, onwards and upwards :D

Yeah. You are picking up a nice head of steam but I still thinks its Barnet title.

We havent played at home since December the 20th and only twice since November the 15th.

Picked up a Huge win at Welling last time out in the league and head to Woking on Saturday. Will be making the trip myself. Looking forward to it :D

Then have a run of 5 Massive home games that will make or break us. February is Vital.

Just deciding wether to stay in Alfreton or Sheffield on the Sunday night before our big clash at the Impact in April mate. Sheff is fave as, as you know, Alty is a graveyard on a pubcrawl  Might go with it tho and have a quiet evening as my lad is driving and just passed his test. Are we finally gonna meet up for a beer?

Great journey to and from Woking today. But well the match. :gmc: we were ****ing wank. Absolutely dog ****. Worse performance of the season considerably beating Grimsby away by a mile. On todays evidence we are contenders for the wooden spoon not survival.

Unfortunately we are developing a very worrying combination. Shipping pleny goals and scoring few in the oppostions net. Doesnt bode well and I am truly glum tonight about of our chances tonight.

Next 3 games will define our season! FGR away, Brizzle Rovers home then Barnet away. Never been to FGR so looking forward to it, then onto my birthday celebrations the following weekend on the Friday night round Cleethorpes with 30 lads, Brizzle the next day with a sore head then the Grand in Scarboro on the Sunday then the next Friday upto Sheffield with a few pals then Sat morning train to Barnet £15 return cos my mate works for BR this is normally £90!! Bargain!!!
Oh, and heres hoping that theyre all ON of course
